Elta Air Movement. Air Quality. Since 1974. Established in 1974, Elta initially produced circulating fans for high temperature applications.

For more than 45 years, Elta Fans' technological advances in fan design and engineering have put us at the forefront of customer's minds, providing them with a wide spectrum of products for a large variety of applications. A distinctive competence of our business remains as prevalent today as then - We are focused to the individual needs of our customers, whether volume product requirements or tai

lored designs for particularly specialist applications. As the business soon developed, Elta's capabilities in fan design focused on supplying Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), the majority of applications for heat exchangers, engine room cooling, oil rigs and dry cleaning machinery. Expansion and growth came quickly, as Elta continued to match its capabilities, application knowledge and expertise in fan engineering, against its customer needs. So much so, Elta has established an enviable reputation for its innovation in axial flow fan technology, whilst also developing the worlds first adjustable pitch mixed flow impeller.

Good ventilation shouldn’t come with unwanted noise.

Acoustics form an important part of the wider Elta capability.

From silencers and louvres to acoustic enclosures, measurement, modelling and technical expertise, our acoustics team helps tackle noise as part of the ventilation challenge.

Moving air effectively is only part of the equation.

How you manage the sound it creates matters too.

Few environments place greater demands on ventilation than healthcare.

Hospitals are complex buildings.

Different areas can have very different requirements, with ventilation playing an important role in maintaining appropriate indoor conditions across wards, corridors, treatment areas and other spaces.

That puts considerable responsibility on the equipment behind the scenes.

Performance and reliability matter. But so do filtration, hygiene, noise, energy efficiency, controls, access for maintenance and compliance with the relevant project requirements.

Elta's AHU capability ranges from compact units through to fully bespoke systems, including solutions designed around specialist and HTM project requirements.

And because our wider capability also includes fans, controls and acoustics, we can bring together expertise from across different areas of ventilation when a project demands it.

In a healthcare environment, every detail has a reason for being there, and a ventilation system should be no different.

It all started in 1974.

Roger Crook and John Snape began by producing single-phase, long-case axial fans and fans for commercial ovens under the name Low Temperature Applications.

By 1976, the business had become Elta Fans Ltd.

What followed was decades of development, engineering and expansion.

New markets were entered. New capabilities joined the business. Manufacturing expanded internationally. Air handling, acoustics, controls and specialist ventilation became increasingly important parts of what Elta could offer.

In 2024, Elta Fans rebranded to Elta.

Dropping one word from the name might have looked like a small change.

But it represented something much bigger.

Fans remain fundamental to our business, but today's Elta brings together a far broader range of products, engineering disciplines and technical expertise than the name Elta Fans could communicate.

The Elta of today is much more than the business that started in 1974. But our foundations remain the same: engineering expertise, innovation and a commitment to better air movement.

What happens when a standard fan simply isn't enough?

Some applications ask considerably more of a ventilation system than others.

Extreme temperatures.
Corrosive environments.
Hazardous atmospheres.
Remote locations.
Demanding operating conditions.

In these environments, selecting a fan from a catalogue based purely on airflow and pressure isn't enough.

The materials, construction, motor, impeller configuration, finish and operating conditions can all become part of the engineering decision.

That's where our Industrial & OEM experience comes in.

Rather than trying to make a standard product fit a non-standard problem, our engineers can work with customers to understand the application and develop a solution around its requirements.

It’s this engineering flexibility that allows our fans to be used across a wide variety of applications, from power generation and offshore to marine, hazardous environments and industrial processes around the world.

At the heart of many of our products is our own Axial Impeller technology.

An impeller might look like just one component of a fan, but its configuration has a significant influence on how that fan performs.

Our high-efficiency adjustable pitch aerofoil impellers can be configured using different hub sizes, blade combinations and blade angles to achieve the performance required for a particular application.

With 3, 6, 9 and 12 blade combinations available, our engineers have considerable flexibility when matching a fan to its duty.

And that matters.

That flexibility allows the technology to sit at the heart of fans designed for everything from general ventilation to much more specialist applications, including smoke control, hazardous areas, car parks and marine environments.

An air handling unit isn’t one-size-fits-all.

So neither is our approach.

From compact, low-void units to fully bespoke systems, our AHU expertise is built around finding the right solution for the project.

Our team considers the details that make a difference. From unit placement and specification requirements to filtration, thermal performance, controls and how the unit will ultimately be installed.

It’s this attention to detail, backed by decades of ventilation experience, that allows us to engineer AHU solutions around the demands of each project.

Whatever the challenge, our team has the expertise to help you get the air handling right.

With buildings becoming increasingly airtight, having the right ventilation solutions is becoming vital.

Commercial buildings often have a large number of occupants within a single space for a long period of time.

Our range of commercial ventilation can help prevent the build up of CO2, odours, dust and bacteria, providing a more comfortable environment.

Effective commercial ventilation is an investment in the wellbeing of the individuals inside.
