A bit of a long winded post pending… 👀
As a lot of people on here will be well aware by now, I have taken the decision to stop the subcontracting arm of Frontier Modular Services Ltd… We aren’t closing, we are calling it a pivot!
This wasn’t an easy decision to make but upon reflection, it probably should have been!
For over 8 years, the business took every minute of Lindsey Nicklin and my time! Days, nights, weekends and holidays to boot!
I’m not sitting here playing my little violin, we had some brilliant projects along the way and met some incredible people. It has also allowed us to do things in our personal life, that some people can only dream of. For that, we will be ever grateful to everyone who made it happen 😊
Because of the turn around in the business over the last 18 months, we are doing this without harming any other companies, which we would, if we closed previously when things got tough! A decision we desperately avoided!
Two and half years ago, we had a director, project manager, more office staff behind the scenes, with over 30no operatives on site and managed to lose money!! Turnover is vanity, profit is sanity but cash is always king!
We nearly lost everything backing ourselves to get out of the mess! Houses, cars etc!
All business owners should back themselves. If you don’t, nobody else will!
I fully backed myself to get out of the mess we were in, and gladly we had a couple of projects last year and early this, that meant we were able to clear the decks of debt and trade efficiently so we could get to this point! (A couple of final bits are getting paid today 🥳)
Sometimes it’s best to leave when things are going well!
Amie Doyle will be staying to work alongside me moving forward. We are currently pricing a few opportunities as a small, principal contractor, working directly with clients. We are also going to be speaking with past clients about the opportunity of running full projects. Myself on sites, with the efficiency of Amie in the back office, completing all paperwork and making sure we run the project to the standard our client will require. How this looks will be determined for each client. But it’s exciting!! 🥳
All of our operatives have found new work placements. Something which was never going to be an issue, as they really did step up when needed! To the guys that stuck with us through the difficult times, we both thank you again! 🙏
Companies that stood by us on our supply chain which never got paid on time, we both apologise but thank you for your patience and belief in us that we would turn it around!
Modular is a great game to be in and I’m looking forward to going down a route which should help me improve again as a business owner… My knowledge of this industry will help businesses and sites run better than any agency site/project manager can do.
I’m currently enjoying a couple of weeks in a villa in Turkey! 🇹🇷
Fighting fit and raring to go again in a new direction! 💪🏻
