🚗🚙🚐 VAUXHALL 2.0 CDTI A20DTH OIL PRESSURE LOW - OIL PICK UP SEAL REPLACEMENT £250.00 🚐🚙🚗

A common fault of the Vauxhall 2.0 CDTi A20DT* engine that can be found in the Astra J, Insignia A & Zafira C is engine failure from lack of oil being supplied to the oil pump.

You may see “OIL PRESSURE LOW - STOP ENGINE” flash up on the centre digital display - more so when the engine is first started from cold.

Please don’t ignore the message - a repair is much cheaper than the cost of a replacement engine or in some cases a new car as some people can’t justify the cost of an engine and the labour involved in fitting a replacement engine.

Here at VauXRepairs we remove the engine sump to gain access to the oil pump, fit a genuine Vauxhall supplied oil pick up seal, clean the sump out, rebuild it all back up with a new oil filter and treat it to some of the finest 5w30 fully synthetic oil, all for just £250, which is a fraction of the cost the replace the engine.

🛑🛑🛑 ENGINE OIL PRESSURE FAULT - STOP ENGINE IMMEDIATELY 🛑🛑🛑

2014 ONWARDS PEUGEOT, CITROEN, VAUXHALL 1.2 TURBO AND NON TURBO GENUINE WET TIMING BELT KIT OFFER - JUST £475.00

The newer PSA variants of Vauxhall, Peugeot and Citroen use a 3 cylinder 1.2 petrol engine which is either naturally aspirated or turbocharged and is a typically a very good unit.

The engine uses a more modern WET BELT system, where the engines timing belt runs within the casing and is lubricated using the engine oil. The original suggested interval for it to be replaced has now been drastically reduced, many dealers are recommend to be changed no later than 62,000 miles or 6 years by PSA.

But unfortunately we are seeing that they can suffer with premature timing belt failure and/or the timing belt breaks up and all the debris can block the oil pickup strainer - showing LOW OIL PRESSURE on the vehicles dash, causing running issues with the engine management light being illuminated or worse - irreparable damage to the engine bearings.

This latest engines can be found in the 2017 onwards Vauxhall Crossland, Grandland, Mokka and Corsa.
They were also used earlier in the 2014 Peugeot and Citroen vehicle range.

Vehicles will require the sump removing and cleaning, the oil pump pick up strainer will also be cleaned thoroughly before being refitted.
We then replace the front crankshaft oil seal, the timing belt kit, fit a Mahle oil filter and approved oil - this is priced at £575.00 including VAT.

The repair comes with a 12 month guarantee for customer peace of mind.

The later 2014 onwards variant of Vauxhalls 1.6 CDTi engine is a very good unit but unfortunately they can suffer with premature timing chain guide failure and/or the timing chain tensioner can loose oil pressure so it can cause a severe rattle especially upon start up.

This latest 1.6 CDTi engine can be found in the 2014 onwards Vauxhall Insignia, Astra J/K, Mokka and Zafira C.

We replace the full timing chain kit using only Genuine Vauxhall parts, with a modified timing chain tensioner gasket that helps maintain oil pressure in the tensioner.

Here’s an example of the catastrophic damage caused when the timing belt shreds its teeth on the A20DTH 2.0 CDTi engines which can be found in the Vauxhall Insignia, Astra J & Zafira C Tourer.

Typically, we turn these timing belt jobs around promptly and at a very reasonable £250.00 including VAT.
The timing belt, idler pulley, tensioner and water pump all need replacing at the recommended interval of 6 years/72months or 100,000 miles - whichever is sooner.

However this particular car hadn’t been changed in 11 years and with just under 60,000 miles on the clock, the timing belt frayed due to the guide pulley fracturing, which in turn snapped both camshafts and cracked the cam carrier/rocker cover.

A expensive repair against the cost of routine maintenance.
