Lambretta cast iron 200 (66mm) with a 60/107 crank and an billet LTH reed block fitted, and running through a JL4, i originally did this engine as an experiment to see what i could get out of it probably about 4-5 years ago, tuning it via a programme and some work with the very talented Attila Pallás running it through his own programme to pinpoint and potential problems, and yes i had a few,!! especially the reed block and the air flow, so i ran it for a while, previously tried it on another Dyno, when Frank Fountain organised a Dyno day with a local bike shop, but to much static interference, and the operator couldn’t get a clear signal due to poor ignition, usual on these things!!!
, so i tried it on my dyno (no fudging) eventually after a new ignition was fitted a couple of years ago, very happy with result, and my Son first run on the Dyno happy days 🤗

Further on with this the Vespa px200 running the rally 200 engine, on a strong touring tune, after some case work, tidying up previous work done , head work also, using the old Type Malossi 210 cylinder, the old type malossi reed block now with the bell crank, at 60 stroke, cylinder untouched, just case and reed and std head cut to suit, customer wanted some options with the exhausts, i have stock for customers to try, for a small fee, we opted for a comparison on his own pipe (sito box), and my SIP road 2, a Polini box also and wanted to try a JL Rz expansion, just as a reference/comparison between box and expansion on a std port timings, on the older cylinder, very happy with results

Vespa Rally 200 engine in for a rebuild, came in running rough in a p200 frame,to much play on main crank bearings so strip apart do some upgrades, it’s an old malossi kit fitted, with the old style malossi reed block, on opening it up i see a tough conversion transfer ramps all over the place, so tidy up joints for a nice transition from carb to cylinder, new 60 stroke bell crank, bearings strait cut gears and new piston, should make a nice everyday motor

Ts1 running the fantastic Taylor Tuning LH inlet manifold leaves the mammoth head with a bit of an ugly gap so all your cooling air will flood out and not cool effectively, so i gave the customer some options to fill in the gap, the decision was made and i went to work with brushed stainless steel and stainless steel rivets and bonded with RTV, making up a template with cardboard to get the contours correct then orientation of the grain on the brushed stainless that goes with the inlet manifold, a good choice i think to cure a problem

Ts1 in for a rebuild, after only 150 miles as ran with a small amount of gearbox oil in it, as destroyed most moving parts, so in for some upgrades also , so we had a conversation, and decided on a touring tune, a torque based set up, so 5 speed box AF 34t , cassette clutch, and all new bearings seals and a 62/110 crank, with ground big end, (no case mods) also reducing carb size from 35 to 30, cst3 exhsust and a mammoth head, all tuning work carried out in house and a Taylor tuning LH inlet manifold for the ts1 cylinder as a fantastic piece of design and manufacture, hats off to Darrell as they perform very well, so very happy with result and customer is pleased
