on with a Lambretfa series 2 Rustoration and usual rear light studs have snapped, no matter how hard you try save them rusted solid, so the hard bit is saving the patina paintwork as best as possible, so cut back a bit and dress back to a point as best as posable and extend with new thread from a bolt grind to a point, support with a big repair washer folded to 90* , file a flat on the bend so grips can sit on it, hole over the join so u can gain access, weld and dress back, hopfully helps others.

Lambretta cast 200cc carry on from previous post, after rebuild got the new phbl 25 fitted with mb inlet manifold and a bgm v4 pipe to try first for the customer, i also tried an old Af NK road, a CST3 and the customer down exhsust a AF 42 clubman, with twin tail pipes
first off go through ring brake in process to get the rings bedded in to the new cylinder
then ease into power runs and get the carb and ignition dialled in
happy with results 
all very different so it’s open for the customer to decide what he what’s to do to suit his riding style

Customer brought in his new Jet 200 in for an upgrade on its carb, PHBL and a MB inlet manifold, on removing the old carb and manifold i cleaned up gasket face on cylinder and fitted new, and sealed up exhaust and performed a leak down test and it leaked from cylinder inlet gasket face, stripped it off and gasket showing pinched at both ends nothing in the middle,
so on further inspection the cylinder was milled poorly, so remove cylinder and mill face.
on removing cylinder piston was showing signs of wear, blow-by on rings and a 3 ring piston with cast rings !!
measured cylinder to piston clearance and it was past tolerance
so new piston required, 1st oversize
and a bit of tuning to get a small increase in performance and take advantage to better quality rings

Ongoing works on the Ser 2 fitting the Cambridge Lambretta Ltd fuel gauge and sender unit, bit of work to get it set up into spare wheel carrier and usable so it can be easily disconnected and make it user friendly, also QUAD LOCK system bar mount along with uprated battery system for all the toys for touring, and some engine upgrades also🤗
