This week we started the final on-site assembly of an aerospace test rig we’ve been working on over the last few months.

This has been a full turnkey fabrication project for the Vortex team, including:

• Stainless steel tanks
• Fabricated bund
• Sound insulated enclosure
• Drip trays
• Stainless pipework
• Powder coating and passivation
• Mechanical assembly

It’s great to see all the individual fabricated parts coming together into the finished system. There is still plenty to complete, but it’s already taking shape nicely.

Projects like this show the variety of work we can manage in-house, from individual fabricated components through to complete mechanical assemblies.

Another couple of stainless steel tanks finished and dispatched from the Vortex workshop, ready for assembly on site.

Everything fabricated in-house and finished to our customer’s requirements.

Jobs like this are a good example of the work we enjoy doing. Stainless tanks, frames, pipework and fabricated assemblies, built properly to customer drawings.

Nice to see these ready to leave the workshop.

Big news for Vortex Fabrications - we’re moving again!!
After less than a year since our last move, we’re already on the move once more. From 1st July, we’ll be operating from our new premises at Unit C2, The Courtyard, Eckland Lodge Business Park, LE16 8HB.
This move gives us around three times the workshop space and marks a big step forward for the business, including the addition of in-house laser cutting capabilities. Thanks again to all of our customers, suppliers and everyone who has supported us so far- exciting times ahead.

We’re Hiring: Skilled TIG Welder / Fabricator (£15–£17 per hour + overtime) – Full Time, Immediate Start
📍 Desborough, Kettering

We’re looking for an experienced TIG Welder/Fabricator to join our growing workshop team for an immediate start. This is a full-time, permanent role working on high-quality, precision projects across the aerospace and motorsport sectors.

The role:
You will be fabricating and TIG welding aluminium and stainless steel to a high standard. Our work includes, but is not limited to:

- Framework
- Pipework
- Exhaust systems
- Radiators
- Bespoke motorsport and aerospace components

Most work is workshop-based, with site work when required.

What we’re looking for:

- Proven experience TIG welding aluminium and stainless steel
- Strong fabrication skills with great attention to detail
- Ability to work independently where required
- Motivated, reliable and well presented
- Press brake experience desirable but not essential

What we offer:

- £15–£17 per hour depending on experience
- Overtime available
- Daily working away allowance for site work
- Site travel costs covered
- Quarterly bonus based on company profits
