We love a local collaboration — and this one’s a favourite 🍺🤝

Our driver Rich popped over to Bowness Bay Brewing to collect another batch of the Black Swan stout we use in our Beef & Ale Stew and one of their lovely team was more than happy to pose with a case for a quick photo -You’ve got to love working locally! 🙌🏻💚

Using locally sourced ingredients and suppliers is a huge part of who we are.

Last Friday we met with George from Camp Kaizen to talk all things summer camps, nutrition and catering, and we’re very excited about what’s ahead.

Camp Kaizen brings together people from all walks of life for an unforgettable training camp experience in the Lake District, combining cold water exposure, hiking, running and strength training — all rooted in wellbeing, connection and growth.

🚂🥘 Community Catering for Kendal Model Railway Club Exhibition

Once again, we were delighted to provide hot food catering for the exhibition staff attending the Kendal Model Railway Club exhibition at Kendal Leisure Centre last weekend.

This was a two-day event, with hearty, warming food to keep everyone fuelled:

🥘 Day 1
Beef & Ale Stew made with locally sourced beef and a local stout from Bowness Bay Brewery, served with creamy mash and steamed vegetables

🍗 Day 2
Chicken & Mushroom Casserole with basmati rice and steamed vegetables

🍰 Dessert both days
A selection of handmade cakes & tray bakes and fresh fruit

This year marks the 10th year we’ve had the pleasure of catering for the club’s exhibition, something we’re incredibly proud of. It’s a real testament to the quality of our food, our service, and the relationships we build with our customers.

Founded in 1963, the Kendal Model Railway Club has a wonderful history, from meeting in someone’s cellar and the Friends Meeting House, to hosting exhibitions every year (bar 2021 due to Covid-19) and finding a long-term home at Kendal Leisure Centre. Their two-day format, introduced in 2003, has proved a real success.

For us, every event is different. We take time to understand what matters to each customer and tailor our service accordingly, building long-term partnerships, not just providing food.

And yes… we always make time to have a look around the exhibition layouts once we’ve packed up on the Sunday 🚂 a lovely way to round off a busy weekend!

Thank you to the Kendal Model Railway Club for trusting us once again, and a huge thank you to our fabulous team for delivering another event with care and pride. 💚
