3RD IN ROUND 3🥉

After an unfortunate afternoon loop of 4 runs, we've ended the back of the pack in the Freelander Trophy, (+0:55) after a gearbox mounting bolt working its way out AND damaging a front shock absorber, it just wasn't to be, +24secs off 2nd & a further +31 secs from the lead 😫

The issues began on run 5 where we suffered some vibration, causing us to lose confidence in the car and slowing down because of it. Although not finding anything back in service, we thought it was just the exhaust so went out for another run - slightly quicker but despite our time the vibration was still there, and after lifitng the bonnet we were greeted with the culprit bolt just about holding in! 😬

After fixing that we went out for run 7, where the front end starting banging badly, causing us to nurse our car round in hope of getting back to service to rectify the problem - which we did! It became apparent we had knocked the top out of the front nearside strut and damaged the CV joint as a result 🙄

Our team worked unbelievably hard to get the strut changed in a mere 10 minutes, giving us the chance to complete our last run and go for the win! But despite a fast time, unfortunately it wasn't enough and the final results showed us the cost of our problems! 3rd in the Freelander Trophy and 29th out of 38 Starters 🤷‍♂️

On the plus side we still gained championship points, and despite our trouble we only have a few parts to change before we're back out. Where we'll fighting for a better result at Walters Arena for Round 5, the first weekend of July 👀

FINISHED!! 2022 SBHR Class A1 Production car CHAMPIONS! 🏆

Over two days, we've completed 12 Special Stages across 94 miles...And we've finished to take the A1 Production Class win AND finish 2️⃣8️⃣th out of 4️⃣7️⃣ Starters! 🥇

Our Gibsons for Land rover parts/spares. sponsored car has performed unbelievably well this weekend, competing on some of the toughest stages we ever have, and not having any mechanical problems or punctures! 😁

To top it all off we were the fastest Freelander, beating the modified FL by 11 seconds before they unfortunately had to retire. 1️⃣

It was a real test for our standard (Britpart) suspension, engine, and under-body protection but we did it, and that rounds out our quiet but succesful year! ✔️

Our 2022 season ends having competed in 2 hill rallies, finishing both, and winning the Class in each event too! It couldn't have gone any better, and we certainly couldn't have done it without our service team 🏆🏆

Pick would've been proud of us this weekend, and this one was for him ❤️
