Designing and making our workshop sign from our logo this morning. Going to leave it to age naturally to a rust finish, which I think will look quite striking. If you would like signage made for your business give us a call to discuss.

Well how exciting for me!

Barry the snail and all his wee garden pals are featuring in an open garden this weekend through the Scotland's Garden Scheme.

Brian, who makes the very best coffee and Linda from Beastie Assemblage are very kindly hosting Barry and Co in their very stunning garden just south of Jedburgh, Scottish Borders.

The garden will be open this Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th between 11am and 5pm at Southdean Mill, Chesters.

The opportunity is there for you to purchase Barry and all my other creations or just take in the lovely surroundings with a cuppa.

Please have a look on Scotland's Garden Scheme website for full details.

Thank you Julie

Thought I'd share a little bit of what I've been working on this past week. These little picks just pop into your flower pot, so ideal for even the smallest of gardens. Made from mild steel, they will age naturally to a rust finish.

This lovely old cast iron bench needed a repair to one end to bring it back to its former glory.

I thought I would introduce the George behind George Waugh Engineering as I am apparently supposed to be in charge of marketing - well who knew!
My friend said I need a USP - after I had googled unique selling point (see what I did there - saved you googling it didn’t I) we thought that might be George himself, but he is not very cooperative.
George brings over 40 years of industry experience - Yes he is that old! Providing a comprehensive range of welding and fabrication services, delivering high-quality workmanship tailored to individual requirements.
He is really good at finding solutions to your metally (who cares if it isn't a word) problems with bespoke fabrication and customised repair solutions.
This is the only picture of his wee smiley face Im allowed to post!

Geordie did laugh at me when I first started designing for him as all I had was the bairns wee pink bendy ruler but actually it works quite well. He has since just invested more money in me and bought me a vernier caliper or as he calls it a very near!

So I thought I should introduce myself as a not so new team member of George Waugh Engineering.
Normally I’m in the background doing George’s bookkeeping, but my role seems to have grown arms and legs as they say and I seem to have new responsibilties designing everything under the sun on his CNC plasma and trying to navigate our social media shop window.
Many moons ago I did graphic design at the Tech. In fact, it was so long ago the Tech has been bulldozed and replaced by houses. We didn’t use computers back then — our department wasn’t very big and resources were short, so everything was done manually.
So here I am now, in my middle-age era, starting afresh and designing stuff again! I’m still learning, I’ve got a wee pink ruler, and I’m trying no to get too confused between centimetres and inches while my menopausal brain fights against change.
I’m also working alongside George, who is my long-suffering partner. I’m no sure which one of us is the brains and which is the beauty — neither, I think — but we seem to be muddling along and having a few laughs along the way.
So if you’d like to see what I’ve been up to, please have a wee look and give our Instagram or page a like and also please share with your friends.
Thank you
Julie
