Today saw us fitting a Towbar for a repeat customer. We had previously fitted one to his Skoda Yeti, but today we had his almost new Volvo XC60 in for a detachable towbar with a 13 pin vehicle specific electrical kit.

We may not always be the cheapest as we always use dedicated electrical kits. But we would much rather do the job right, and do it once.

BMW X1 in today for a Tow bar and hide away electrics. The customer was initially concerned about what it would look like with any visible bumper cuts. Once again we kept the cuts to minimum and not at all noticeable. With the kit being designed to work with the car we have the Fog light and parking sensors all cut off when the electrics are connected. Now all ready for a new Caravan for the summer.

Another Tow bar and electrics supplied and fitted today. Apparently the last kit in the country so we got this one just in time .

Sadly we are going to have to go back to taking a non returnable booking deposit on all towbars. Currently sitting on 11 no show towbars

Another towbar job. I just forgot to get some good photos 🤦‍♀️. This one benefited from one of our Stage one renaps.

Following a towbar being fitted (Ipswich tow bar fitter is a sister company of ours) The customer wanted more torque for Towing. Once we were happy the BMW was in a safe state to add our stage One software we carried out the procedure. Some great gains on this BMW. Will help with a heavy caravan especially up hills.

Other than the birds using this for target practice. It was great to see this Range Rover Discovery in for a Towbar. As always a vehicle specific wiring kit was used meaning it works in harmony with the car. Already for summer caravaning.

Today we had this stunning Audi Q7 for a detachable towbar and 13 pin hide away electrics kit. All coded to the car and ready for holiday tomorrow.

Follow our post requarding re mapping, we have had this T5 we previously fitted a Towbar to. Safe gains in our stage 1 remap. Ready for the caravan again this summer.

Cheap tow bars...

Everyday we get phone calls requesting a price for fitting a tow bar and wiring and everyday we get at least one cutomer telling us they have a price that's a lot cheaper. What they fail to understand is that they are comparing prices for completely different products.

When asked what make of tow bar they have been quoted on they usually have no idea, or it's a cheap imported bar.

When then asked about the wiring they state it's universal bypass wiring. (Scotch locked on to vehicles rear lights and bypassing the vehicles towing safety features.)

At ITBF, we only fit high quality tow bars, usually from Tow-Trust. Our tow bar wiring is always vehicle specific and dedicated, enabling the vehicle's towing safety features to be enabled when towing which is sourced usually from ECS Electronics UK, with the latest vehicle towbar software update from SP Diag. Although more expensive, fitting vehicle specific wiring doesn't invalidate your vehicle warranty or insurance.

Don't be mislead in to fitting cheap and unsafe towing parts, it's not worth the risk.

Believe it or not their is a Tow bar fitted to this Audi Q5. It's just detachable and almost completely hidden.
We are used to fitting tow bars to high end vehicle and always use premium bars and dedicated electrical kits, yes it costs more, but it works in harmony with the car, and can be much cheaper than chasing electrical faults later on.
