Update on housing targets. North Devon share a local plan with Torridge, so the numbers are combined.

Existing local plan for this year. .......714
Actual build out last year.....................802
New government target....................1,307
83% increase.

There will be enormous pressure on planners to approve schemes. No idea where infrastructure is coming from, as developers will use clever spreadsheets to justify low contributions. But, and here's the big thing, this is not just North Devon, this is country wide, so where do we find 83% EXTRA builders from where we are now? Everyone under 25 seems to want to be an influencer, or set up an Amazon business, or at the very least keep their hands clean?

Hanomag 500 with Perkins V8 engine, loading soil in front of Atlas 1302B excavator. Fair bit of grunt in this machine, would load over 3 tonnes per bucket.
Location is believed to be the start of Hillington site, although could possibly be half way down Fern Way, around the back of David Carter's / Freda Avant's sort of area.

There's something reassuring, when customers return time after time?
Whilst putting in a new brick paved road at Hele Valley Holiday Park, the client brought out a photo of my father and Mickey Bowden starting a phase of the site in about 1989/90, OVER 30 years AGO!!!
This can mean only one, of two scenarios?
1.) Keeping customers happy brings repeat business. OR
2.) Father said you can never rush a good job! :-)

Concrete in. Steel starting to go up. Makes a change working 3m above where we normally find ourselves. Less mud up there for sure?
