If you already have solar panels, adding a battery is one of the most straightforward ways to get more value from what you are already generating.

Without a battery, any electricity you generate but do not use immediately goes back to the grid, often at a lower rate than you pay to buy it back in the evening. A battery changes that equation completely. You store what you generate during the day and draw from it when you need it.

Bought a heat pump recently, or thinking about it? Here is what you need to know about keeping it running well.
Unlike gas boilers, heat pumps do not need an annual Gas Safe service. But they do need regular maintenance:
👉 Outdoor unit filters should be checked and cleaned seasonally
👉 Refrigerant levels should be checked every few years by a qualified engineer
👉 The system flow temperature should be monitored and optimised, especially if your home has had any insulation improvements since installation
👉 Antifreeze levels in the pipework need to be correct
