A further look at the new Wagner paint line following our feature in the April edition of Surface World Magazine.

The images highlight key elements of the installation, from the integrated pre-treatment to M-Cube application booth and IPS Coating Centre with Smart Feeding Technology through to the curing systems.

The line has been designed to deliver consistent, high-quality finishes while improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

A considered investment with Wagner Group and TD Finishing, now fully operational since January and supporting production.

Last week was an exciting one for the business as we brought in two pieces of equipment at our Waldon Way site. An supplied 1303e EGB pressbrake and an EML2515-AJe PDC with a RMP 3015-NTK automation (following on after the bank holiday). It’s been a number of years since we had a punch/laser combination machine so an exciting time for the team to get grips with. Increased bending capacity added with a 130tn 3m machine going through its commissioning this week! Big thanks for another flawless delivery and install by Charles Russell Transport team!

Greenfield Engineering is pleased to announce a significant advancement in its quality assurance capability with the introduction of the Planar P150.35 measurement system, incorporating Surfscan and ACS-P-AOI-P150.35 technologies.

This investment forms part of the company’s continued focus on precision, traceability, and digital quality management across its manufacturing operations.

Our latest investment is the InspecVision Planar optic non-contact, 2D optical inspection measurement system. The Planar metrology solution is an advanced optical scanner designed to measure and perform precise, accurate inspection of both flat and thinner sheet metal components.

The system includes a 2D automatic repositioning upgrade, using intelligent markers to stitch multiple scans together. This enables accurate measurement of components larger than the machine’s table surface. Advanced integrated 2D CAD interactive PolyWorks software verifies components against customer drawings, ensuring full dimensional conformity.

As part of this investment, Greenfield Engineering has implemented the full system installation and calibration to ensure optimal performance from day one with on-site training for up to three candidates. An initial two-day training programe covering system operation, measurement techniques, and reporting. A follow-up training session to be completed within six months of installation, reinforcing capability and supporting continuous improvement
This structured approach ensures effective adoption of the technology and maximizes long-term value across the business.

This latest investment reinforces Greenfield Engineering’s commitment to adopting advanced inspection technologies. By integrating metrology systems with digital quality processes.

Our new office dashboarding system now live across the business. Designed to provide real-time visibility across our operations, the dashboards integrate live production data from our Amada UK V-Factory systems, alongside machine camera feeds and wider business KPIs into one central platform. This gives the team a clear, immediate view of machine performance, utilization, output, and shopfloor activity.

Bringing this level of data together allows for faster, more informed decision-making while maintaining focus on efficiency, delivery performance, and quality standards across both sites.

This forms an important part of our continued investment in digital infrastructure, supporting a more connected and data-driven manufacturing environment, with improved transparency at every level of the operation.

Now this trail area in the main office is up and running, we are now progressing the next phase, with plans to roll out real-time dashboarding across individual departments and our sites, ensuring consistent visibility and department specific performance and operational process tracking throughout the business.

Good to see the planning team already engaging with the system and using real-time insights to drive day-to-day performance.

Another positive step forward as we continue to invest in technology that supports proper scalable, high-quality manufacturing from our strong and dedicated personnel infrastructure.
