As some of you may have already noticed with the slightly amended ‘out of office’ recently following his trip to Antarctica! Technical Director David Illingworth is pleased to announce his semi-retirement and consequently from now onwards he will only be working on a limited part-time basis.

David set up in 2004 and has since grown to an established design practice in the ground engineering sector. The company has gone from strength to strength and now boasts a comprehensive team of designers offering over 100 years of combined experience. This vast amount of specialist experience sees the company left in safe hands and will continue to offer design and support services to many parts of the ground engineering / construction sector.

Further with the introduction of which was founded in 2020 with Michael Johnson, expanding upon the reputable design practice Piledesigns Ltd. Since then, the business has grown into an established multi-disciplinary design practice in the ground engineering sector. Exciting news! Piledesigns Ltd has clinched the ‘Associate Project of the Year’ award at this year’s ASUC Awards! A well-deserved triumph for the Piledesigns Ltd and teams and showcased the integration of geotechnical and geostructural design we can offer. The hybrid composite retaining wall solution eliminated the need for temporary works propping, and with a nod to sustainability, repurposed steel plunge sections added an extra layer of efficiency. Huge congratulations to the entire team for this great achievement and Trenchco for the successful delivery of the project! 🏆🎉
