Another productive Friday for the team at FT Surfacing Ltd! 👷‍♂️🔥

Today we've successfully completed the machine-laid carriageway surfacing to Road 3 on the Don Street residential development in Middleton, working directly for our valued client Kellen Homes. ✅

Following on from our previously posted completion of Road 10, it's great to see further progress being made across this development.

Our involvement forms part of a much wider surfacing package, incorporating:

✅ Approximately 4,000m² of carriageway surfacing

✅ Plot driveways – binder and wearing course installation

✅ Ironwork replacements and adjustments

✅ Raised tables and specialist surfacing finishes

✅ Footpath surfacing throughout the development

✅ Niche remedial works across the development

We're proud to be continuing our working relationship with Kellen Homes, helping to deliver the remaining works and keeping the development progressing towards completion.

Today's Road 3 works are another example of what our experienced machine-lay gang delivers — a consistent, professional finish with attention to detail from start to finish.

Another fantastic transformation delivered by the team at FT Surfacing Ltd! 👷‍♂️

Our latest project in Bacup saw us undertake the complete construction of a new private access driveway, turning an undeveloped area into a fully surfaced, durable and practical access road.

Our scope of works included:

✅ Site excavation and removal of unsuitable material
✅ Supply, installation and compaction of stone sub-base
✅ Installation of concrete kerbs to define the new access
✅ Supply and installation of asphalt binder course
✅ Final surfacing in SMA 10 wearing course for a strong, durable finish

From the initial groundwork through to the final pass of the roller, our team managed the construction process, delivering a quality finish built on solid foundations.

👏 A great effort from everyone involved, showcasing our ability to deliver complete groundworks and surfacing packages, not just the finished tarmac.

Another productive Sunday for the team at FT Surfacing Ltd, undertaking essential pothole and carriageway remedial works at a busy industrial estate in Stafford.

We understand that disruption to daily operations can be costly. That's why careful planning, communication and flexibility are just as important as the works themselves.

✅ One week prior: Advance notification letters delivered to affected businesses and occupiers, ensuring everyone was informed of the planned works.

✅ Out-of-hours delivery: Our operatives attended on Sunday to minimise disruption to weekday business operations and site traffic.

✅ Excavation: Defective carriageway sections excavated to depths of up to 150mm, with arising materials removed and disposed of appropriately.

✅ Reinstatement: Asphalt reinstatement works completed, incorporating SMA surfacing to provide a durable finish suitable for the industrial environment.

✅ Finishing details: Edge sealant and overbanding applied to protect reinstatement joints and help prevent water ingress.

Planned in advance. Delivered out of hours. Completed with care.

Another remedial surfacing package completed for a new and valued client.

FT Surfacing Ltd were tasked with attending Brigham Street in Manchester to undertake remedial works, plaining out and resurface to five residential driveways, bringing the affected areas back up to the required standard and leaving a clean, consistent finish throughout.

Working within an occupied residential development, our team completed the works efficiently while maintaining safe access and keeping disruption to residents to a minimum.

The finished driveways speak for themselves — neat edges, clean interfaces around drainage and existing features, and a strong overall finish.

A great first project with this client and hopefully the beginning of a long-term working relationship.

There’s tarmac and then there’s a properly finished asphalt driveway.

A few of our recent driveway installations completed by FT Surfacing Ltd, showcasing exactly why we take so much pride in the asphalt element of our work.

4 Years of FT Surfacing Ltd. 🔴⚫

September 2022 → September 2026.

This month marks four years of FT Surfacing Ltd , four years of growth, lessons, resilience and continued investment in the people and standards behind the business.

The past 12 months have perhaps represented that journey better than any other.

Earlier this year, the company was hit with a significant financial setback through circumstances outside of its control. Rather than allowing that to define the year, the team continued to push forward, support clients, maintain standards and deliver quality work across every project.

The result has been a year that has also produced FT Surfacing Ltd’s strongest sales performance to date.

That achievement belongs to everyone who has played a part in the journey from the workforce on site, to the management team behind the scenes, and the clients, suppliers and subcontractors who continue to place their trust in the business.
