Congratulations to The Erith Group Swanton Consulting Ltd Julian Malasi (and all other site management / subcontractors involved in this project).

Thank you for the opportunity for to demonstrate our expertises to complete the lifting of of 5 floor levels individually and combined per/level per operation to achieve total lift of approximately 3 metres - weighing/jacking force of 900 tonnes!! 💯

Summary of works:
➡️ Operation 1: Lifting roof level
➡️ Operation 2: Lifting roof level + level 4
➡️ Operation 3: Lifting roof level + level 4, and level 3
➡️ Operation 4: Lifting roof level + level 4, level 3 and level 2
➡️ Operation 3: Lifting roof level + level 4, level 3, level 2 and finally level 1

Each operation doubled in weight and involved complexity for accuracy required; within 1-2mm per floor level to ensure final lift was with overall parameters of 7mm 🚧

Using a combination of steelwork fabrication frames around existing columns, temporary propping to allow cutting free/supporting connections and a range of hydraulic cylinders (25, 30 and 50 tonnes capacity with 250mm upto 1000mm per/stroke cylinders)

✅ 68no. Hydraulic 400te x 100/150mm stroke cylinders - locking collars - for preloading/lifting and load distribution (through launch skid-beams)
🔳 40no. Hydraulic 200te x 150mm Hollow Hole and Solid Double-Acting Cylinders - to horizontally guide and control launc direction
➡️ Lifting & Prelaoding across 155 metres long structure for 140 metres in preparation for hydraulic launch - in controlled manner
✅ Fully-linked and individual control points for all locations with full movement and load monitoring per operation

Works:
Hydra-Capsule Limited engineers carried out temporary propping and needling systems to assist demolition of load-bearing walls and load-transfer using permanent grout-filled flat jacks and hydraulic jacks for steelwork preloading

Allowing for quick response and turnaround to ensure the customer and carry on with works for demoliton and strengthening

Equipment Used:
➡️ 78no. Twin-Needles Support - using 4.1 and 5.5m propping lengths
➡️ 8no. Propping Locations - 21 tonnes of equipment with each leg capacity of superslim providing out 15 tonnes per/section
➡️ Bespoke and standardised steelwork spreader (upto 7 metre long) and spreader/header beams
➡️ 12no. Hydraulic cylinders - 30 tonnes capacity each
➡️ 18no. Permanent Flat Jacks - 20 tonnes capacity each

completed preloading and torquing/prestressing of TC-2 and TC-4 tower-crane grillages.
Using a combination of hydraulic jacks, hollow ram and bolt tensioning equipment for tensioning steel crane-grillage

Equipment Supplied:
✅ 16x. High tensile dywidag 47mm diameter tension bars, anchors and fixtures/fitting
✅ 02x. Preloading of 520 tonnes of tension and stressing on bolting sequence (16nr bars)
✅ 01x. Digital and wireless monitoring system - for recording load, movement and bar elongation readings
✅ 04x. Bespoke jacking frames/beams due to bar installation error and temporary works proposal

🚧 Project progress preview.. 🚧

A few weeks ago… undertook a high risk heavy-lifting and hydraulic jacking activity on the edge of Mayfair high streets.

Unknown to the public and surrounding areas - behind the hoarding and protection fencing - we were able to safely and complete a controlled synchronised lift of an entire facade wall (that had been temporary supported and cut free) to allow lifting of this superstructure 🌉🏗️

Successfully competing this project in less than 8 hours…. Using a combination of 150te, 200te hollow ram cylinders and synchronised lifting + wireless monitoring systems

The facade was lifted approximately 5 metres ⬆️ from its starting point and securely fixed to its new final position - more news to follow

Looking forward to the Timelapse and filming of this unique project and operation being completed successfully - well done to our team 👏👍 - once again working professionally, and safely to ensure porjects are delivered and competently

Lifting superstructures seem to be more a daily than a weekly occurrence… this bridge needed modification works for an up and coming project

Hydra-Capsule were approached with a scheme of lifting approximately +160mm to allow access and safe working space - however - sometimes projects requirements and constraints change….

The final heavy lifting operation achieved = +260mm approximately across this +100 metres long bridge deck, weighing in excess of 750 tonnnes.

Equipment supplied
✅ 30no. 250 tonnes x 45mm stroke screw rams cylinders
✅ 30no. 250 tonnes x 100mm stroke screw rams cylinders
✅ 02no. 16-way Synchronised PowerPack pumps
✅. 30no. Point control, movement and load monitoring sensors
🔳 +400no. 40mm packing and jacking plates
🔳 +700no. Metres (0.7 miles) of hydraulic hosing

System implemented:
▪️ 28no. Synchro-lift
▪️ 56no. Hydraulic locking collar cylinders
▪️ Jack and pack system (climbing jack operations)

Once the remedial works are completed the superstructure will then be fully lowered/load-tranaferred onto the modified supports for the next phase of workstation

🏗️ Project Case Study 📽

Mayfair Refurbishment – Hydraulic Jacking and Temporary Propping Supports to enable separation of concrete floors for lifting and strengthening works

Using our “in-house built” synchronised lifting solution to achieve 1180mm (1.2metres) by using a simple ‘jack and pack’ solution within 1.5 hours - now we leave the specialists to reconnect newly installed permanent steelwork connections for the new floor heights

Hydra-Capsule were contracted to undertake the following scope:

✅ Assisting Temporary Works Design and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) to develop a robot solution for the applications
➡️ Supply and Installation of fully automated and controlled synchronous heavy-lifting control system
✅ Stage 1 - preloading all temporary works and propping to enable “cutting free” all supports for the suspended floor deck
➡️ Stage 2 - balancing loads and ensuring level of the structure is maintained within +/- 1mm
✅ Supply and Installation of all the hydraulic cylinders, temporary propping across 10no. floor levels
➡️ Accuracy of 2mm tolerance for steelwork installation
✅ Full ‘one-stop’ solution to guarantee professional deliveries
