Good luck to Andy Owens and The Hawkstone Farmers Choir this evening! ❤️
After capturing the hearts of the nation and winning the public vote in the fifth semi-final, the Hawkstone Farmers Choir—a 34-strong group of agricultural workers from across the UK—is preparing for the Britain’s Got Talent Grand Final this evening.
The choir, which includes local farmer Andy Owens, has moved from the isolation of the fields to the prestigious stage of the Hammersmith Apollo, all while carrying a powerful message for the British agricultural community.
Though the choir was originally formed for a beer advertisement campaign, it quickly evolved into a vital support network. The group is dedicated to raisingawareness for mental health and su***de prevention in an industry often defined by isolation and intense financial pressure.
The choir’s charitable aims are central to their journey. If they win the £250,000 grand prize, they have pledged to donate a significant portion to mental health charities supporting the farming
community.
The choir’s semi-final performance of Bastille’s "Pompeii" earned high praise from the BGT panel:
Simon Cowell said: "That was one of the most beautiful, incredible productions we've had on this show for years. I don't think it gets better than that".
Andy Owens (Herefordshire farmer): "If we could just save one life tonight, by singing proudly and singing it out there for everyone, then we've already achieved more than we could ever wish for.”
