Boyd Memorial Scout Campsite and Activity Centre This is the official page for the campsite, managed by Biggleswade & District Scouts. Scouting and Lord Boyd had a long association.

The Boyd Memorial Campsite & Activity Centre is located on the border of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire in the small village of Henlow, with approx 12 acres of grounds The campsite was donated to the Biggleswade and District Scouts by Lord Boyd of Merton and was formerly part of his estate. The local Scout troop met in The Grange, his large house, as far back as the 1930s. The site is home and a s

afe haven to a great variety of birds, mammals and plants. Look out for Swans, Kingfishers, Herons, Muntjack Deer, Rabbits and Moorhens amongst others. We offer affordable camping with access to hot showers in large washrooms.

Now the schools are back after the Summer break, have you been having a clear out?

We would love to accept any of your unwanted clothes, shoes, bags and accessories

The clothes bank is accessible in the car park next to the HQ building, if its full or you have a significant amount to donate please let us know as we can put it aside keeping it dry until the company are able to collect it

All funds raised get put back into improving our site, we are currently in the process of fundraising to install a new accessible toilet block and to pgrade the gents bathroom cubicles in the same way the ladies were improve last year

The uniform and badge shop is open tonight 7-8.30pm for all of your uniform needs, remember you can try uniform on which you cant do when you order online plus you are supporting our District and campsite, all profits go back in to Boyd!

We accept card and cash, unfortunately we are no longer able to accept cheques due to banking closures and restrictions.

We spend a lot of time trying to keep the site looking good and maintaining the site

We have spent soo much time clearing out the ditch to prevent flooding and also to relieve stagnant water

Today we have found the ditch has now had lots of wood and pallets thrown in it making it an eye sore and also preventing drainage when the much needed rain comes

So our volunteers are going to have to waste their time again getting smelly and pulling them out

Please do not throw things in the ditch or play poo sticks as we rely on this drainage ditch to help keep the site dry down the far end

Don't miss out if you want a particular date, get in touch to get your booking in as we already have some weekends that are sold out

Remember that May, June and July are always our busiest months

Over the half term week we are hoping to get lots of jobs done on site including upgrading the gents toilet cubicles, painting,decorating,ground works etc

There is something to help with for everyone no matter your skill or experience level, whether you can spare an hour or the whole week!

We have some exciting news to share, we have put down our deposit for a new accessible toilet/shower block!

We have been wanting to carry out this improvement for a long time and now we are much closer to making it happen!

We still have a bit more money to raise as we need quite a lot of ground works carrying out as well but we are hoping by next season they will be up and running

Don`t forget you can still donate to the cause or if you have any fundraising ideas we would love to hear about them
