Great to be back at Wolverstone Marina fitting this 3700 with a brand-new fully battened mainsail and bespoke Stackpack. ⛵
The new mainsail was built using Cross Cut Vectron – a low-stretch, highly durable sailcloth that's ideal for cruising, delivering excellent shape retention and long-lasting performance.
To complete the package, we made a bespoke Stackpack in Captain Navy WeatherMAX® 80, designed to accommodate four lazy jack attachment points for easy sail handling and a smart, tailored finish.

🤩Celebrating Mersea’s sailmaking heritage
We popped into Wyatt’s Artworks today to see Essex Heritage Workboats’ fascinating exhibition about the history of Gowen’s Sailmaking.
The exhibition shares over 120 years of local history, celebrating the people and traditional skills behind this iconic Coast Road business. Gowen’s remains the heart and home of sailmaking on Mersea—and the place where we at Dolphin Sails continue to make our sails today.
We are incredibly proud to be a part of this wonderful heritage and to help carry these skills into the future.
The exhibition is open at Wyatt’s Artworks until Sunday 16th August, from 10am–5pm. It is well worth a visit!

What a wonderful evening at Mersea Week 2026!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Mersea Week for inviting Dolphin Sails to attend and for making us feel so welcome. It is always a pleasure to be part of such a special local event and to share the evening with so many friendly faces.
A huge well done to every competitor who took part with enthusiasm and the fantastic spirit shown throughout the racing were brilliant to see. Congratulations to all the winners!
We were delighted to present a total of 13 handmade Dolphin Sails bags as prizes, and we hope their new owners enjoy using them for many years to come.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to everyone at the Yacht Club for their kindness and hospitality. The crowd was incredibly warm, welcoming and friendly, which made the occasion even more enjoyable for us.
At Dolphin Sails, we are extremely proud and grateful to be part of such a supportive sailing community. Thank you to everyone who stopped to chat, made us feel at home and helped make the evening so memorable.

Essex Heritage Work Boats are featuring an exhibition all about Gowen's Sailmaking history at Wyatt's Artworks West Mersea.
Gowen has been the heart & home of Sailmaking on Mersea for over 120 years, and is where we at Dolphin make our Sails today.
A much-treasured part of our history which we strive to honour, as we stand on the shoulders of giants.
We're very grateful to Essex Heritage Work Boats for shining a light on this proud history of West Mersea and the craft of Sailmaking.
To compliment the History, Visitors to the exhibition will be invited to pop next door and take a quick look at Sailmaking today in the Loft.
With Mersea Week in full swing aswell what a week to be on Coast Road!

Wishing everyone a Fantastic Mersea Week!
Dolphin Sails would like to wish all the competitors, crews, organisers, volunteers and spectators a wonderful Mersea Week 2026.
We are delighted to be sponsoring Monday’s races—Mersea Week Points 1—and wish everyone taking part the very best of luck. Sail safely, enjoy the racing and make the most of this fantastic celebration of sailing on the Blackwater!

We loved working on this wonderful 372 at Titchmarsh Marina. With only around 100 built, it's always a pleasure to work on something a little different. ⛵
Our team recently upgraded her sails and canvas, installing a new cross-cut panel layout mainsail in durable Dacron fabric, paired with a bespoke Stackpack and a foldable sprayhood, all finished in striking Pacific Blue.
