Each of our labelling machine systems are designed and manufactured to British and CE standards, in Britain and built to last; this means that as your business moves forward, we will always be there to support you and your investment. We have an open house policy and welcome all our customers to visit us and develop excellent working relationships with all our staff, as we believe this has been a vital element of our success to date. Hi All,

This post has taken us a few days to write as we've had the hardest week of our lives that we never ever thought would happen. As hard as this is to talk about and put into a few words, we wanted to give you an update on our rapidly evolving situation and where we go from here.

Our factory suffered a devastating fire in the early hours of Sunday morning, which unfortunately resulted in the complete and total loss of our entire manufacturing and contract packing factory. Thankfully nobody was hurt, but we have lost all machines in build, all of our co-packing equipment, and everything that we have worked incredibly hard to build up over the last 32 years.

We are still grieving and it's been unimaginably difficult to get through the last few days, but in contrast to this, the support and love we have received from customers, suppliers, friends, family, and strangers has been beyond heart warming. The list of support is still growing, and there will be a big list of people to thank once we are out the other end of this.

It's still very raw but rather than sitting around in sorrow, our incredible team have shown up every day since Sunday working incredibly hard to keep Premier alive as much as we can. Thanks to that hard work, we have managed to secure a lease on a new property just 20 minutes away from our previous site in Harwich. Given the urgency of the situation, we had no choice but to downsize to a smaller property than before, but we believe this is the best choice to protect the core functions of the business.

We want to reassure engineering customers that servicing for your existing machines will not change. The service engineers have their own stock of spare parts and are continuing to support machines in the field. A lot of our common spare parts are on bonded stock with our suppliers, so there should be minimal disruption for common parts, but assemblies will take some time to build whilst we kit out our new premises.

If you are ordering new machines with us, we will likely be quoting a slightly longer lead time than normal as it is going to take us a few weeks to get up and running again in our new workshop. We also have a backlog of a few previously completed machines to rebuild which were destroyed in the fire.

Ultimately the biggest disruption is going to be within our contract packing operation. We know it's going to take a long time for insurance claims to process and to rebuild the level of equipment we had previously. For now, we will be maintaining a smaller volume of core co-packing work with a few machines that were kindly donated to us by other businesses.

As you can imagine, it's been an absolute whirlwind of emotion this week going from watching your whole working life go up in flames at 3am on Sunday morning, to picking up the keys to a new premises on the Friday (just 6 days later). We know there will be questions to come in due course, but for now we want to focus all of our energy on rebuilding what we can to make sure there is some future for Premier and those of you who put your trust in us over many many years.

We are hopeful we can get back on our feet, and we will be hosting an open day once we are in a position to do so. We have a monumental journey in front of us with a hell of a lot to do in a short space of time, but we want to make this work and hopefully you can continue to support us in any way you can.

Lots of love,
Team Premier

Behind every great product is seamless, high-speed labelling. We love seeing our P250 in action at Avenor Healthcare helping their team easily hit their targets with 60 perfectly labelled bottles every single minute with plenty of headroom left to spare.

From front-to-back precision to effortless day-to-day operations, this is why the P250 quickly becomes a favourite on the line.

Curious how we can upgrade your production line this year? Drop us a message or visit our website to find your team's next favourite piece of kit!

Behind every high-performance machine is an engineer who lives by the details. Meet Mechanical Engineer, Graham Lungley! ⚙️

Graham has been living and breathing engineering since his school days, starting his career as a toolmaker. Today, he channels that expert precision right into our workshop floor.

Get to know Graham:

🌟 Claim to Fame: Building the Ricky Gervais Dutch Barn Orchard Vodka line for Ella's Farm on the X120. (Watching that watch-strap label wipedown function work flawlessly was the ultimate payoff!)
🧠 Words to Live By: "Measure twice, cut once." 📏
🎸 Workshop Soundtrack: Oasis (definitely maybe the best background music for building).
🏍️ Off-Duty: Riding his motorcycle.
☕ Engine Fuel: Coffee on the clock, and a cold Fosters the second he gets home!

Next time you see our X120 lines running smoothly, you'll know the skill Graham poured into them.

Not all heroes wear capes, some carry toolboxes! 🧰🔧

Our service engineer Matt is on-site today tackling a gearbox replacement on one of our labelling machines. The culprit? A sealant leak that went unnoticed for a bit too long, causing a chain reaction that took the machine down.

Matt’s already on it, replacing the gearbox and ensuring this machine is back up and running in no time.

Regular check-ups matter! If you can't remember the last time your machine was serviced, please call us and get booked in 📞 01255 553822

📝 Inside Scarlett’s Notebook: What She Learned From the Premier Family!

A couple of weeks ago, we said goodbye to Scarlett after her fantastic fortnight of work experience with us. But before she left, she sat down with some of our team to ask them about their career journeys, their advice to their younger selves, and how they tackle everyday challenges.

We loved her notes so much that we just had to share them!

Swipe through the images to read Scarlett's mini-interviews with Maisie, Shaun, Gemma, Sian, and Rebecca.

From starting out as a receptionist to transitioning from retail, our team's paths show that there is no single 'right' way to build a career. It’s all about confidence, continuous learning, and taking risks!

🤠 Saddle up, team! Last weekend, our very own CEO Tracie and Operations Director Damian traded their corporate wear for cowboy boots to support an amazing local charity event!

They fully committed to the Country & Western theme as Yellowstone’s iconic Beth & Rip. Since everyone at work already knows Tracie has that inner Beth Dutton boss energy, the outfit was basically mandatory! 😂

We love seeing our leadership team out in the local community, supporting a great local charities, and having a little fun along the way.

And just like that, Scarlett’s two weeks with us at Premier have come to an end! She spent her second week exploring even more areas of the business, shadowing some brilliant team members along the way:

• Going behind the scenes with Tom (Mechanical Engineer) and Alexandra (Production Supervisor).
• Getting a look at the commercial side with Amanda (Purchaser).
• Learning the ropes of customer care with Ross (Spares & Service Coordinator).
• Fine-tuning her CV in a builder session with help from Storme (Brand Ambassador).

Taking on so many different roles in such a short space of time is no easy feat, but Scarlett handled it brilliantly, leaving us with a fantastic foundation for whatever career path she chooses next.

It has been an absolute pleasure having Scarlett on the team for the last fortnight. Thanks for getting stuck into every single department, Scarlett, we're going to miss having you around! 🙌
