Two EDM filters can look almost identical, and behave very differently once they’re in service.
That difference often comes down to how particles are captured.
In some filter designs, particles embed throughout the media structure.
In others, particles collect closer to the surface.
These behaviours influence:
• How quickly usable filtration area is reduced
• How flow changes over time
• How consistently filtration is maintained between changes
Understanding these differences helps explain why similar-looking filters don’t always perform the same in operation, and why matching filtration behaviour to the machine and application is so important.
