Here's a little pause for thought for everyone this wednesday morning; just when things are flowing well, a little hidden surprise can really ruin a good day.
Unfortunately, this is becoming a more common problem these days with Daimler heads. What first appears on the surface to be a serviceable head even with this water damaged port, turned into a scrap head due to improper storage. And yes, that is a huge hole in one of the head bolt holes!
Oxide rot through from the inside out only became apparent once media blasted.

*UPDATE*
Russ is out of hospital now and recuperating at home.
He's in quite a bit of pain which is to be expected but everyone's messages cheered him up no end so thankyou.
Its only the start of the road to recovery, but hopefully it'll lead to a lot less pain and a better quality of life which is a positive.

To all our friends and customers,
As some of you may know Russ has been suffering with ever increasing pain and lack of movement in his hip for the last couple of years.
After much waiting, he finally went into hospital this morning for a total hip replacement and will be out of work for a minimum of 8 weeks.
I will still be working in the meantime, however please be patient if contacting us as it may take more time to reply than usual.

Something a little different to Daimler heads for us here today.
Derek Drinkwater popped in to see us last week and asked us to work on his 1958 Cadillac V8 heads after dropping a valve. Well, how could we refuse!
For those who don't know Derek Drinkwaters work, he is a master of vintage US racemachines and fabrication. Google him to see some of the lovely machines he's built and raced, and some special things he's currently working on now!
