This week is international volunteers week and Probe are incredibly proud to share that our HSE Advisor Joe Athorn has been officially appointed as Mayor of Beccles.

This is a fantastic personal achievement and a reflection of Joe’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving the community both within and beyond the workplace.

A royal recognition: Celebrating our Lifeboat Crew 🚤

Probe are delighted to celebrate our very own Ben Penning who was recently honoured with an invitation to attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on 12th May, on behalf of the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) 💂 👑

Nominated by the Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, this was a truly special recognition and the dedication and commitment shown through their service. During the event, they had the opportunity to see The King and Queen, explore the beautiful palace grounds, eating some fancy sandwiches and taking part in a memorable afternoon.

We couldn’t be any prouder to see a member of our team represented on such a prestigious stage, for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity

The transaction marks a significant milestone for both businesses and concludes a long and successful chapter within the Acteon Group. We extend our sincere thanks to Acteon for its support and partnership, and for the role it has played in developing our businesses. We look forward to continuing a positive relationship in the future.

Probe Manufacturing and Fabrication, together with Claxton Engineering, is pleased to announce that an agreement has been signed for the acquisition of our businesses by AF Gruppen , one of Norway’s leading contracting and industrial groups, from Acteon.

The transaction is subject to approval by the Norwegian Competition Authority and, if approved, is expected to complete during the second quarter of 2026.

This represents an important milestone for Probe. Becoming part of AF Gruppen aligns with our ambitions for growth and strengthens our ability to deliver high-quality fabrication and manufacturing services to our customers across the offshore energy, nuclear, geothermal and renewables sectors.

We have been proud members of the Acteon group for many years and value the strong foundation and support provided during that time.

As we move forward, we remain committed to working closely with our clients, suppliers, and partners to ensure a smooth transition, while we look forward to helping AF Gruppen to ‘clean up the past and build for the future’.
