💧 World Water Day

Water shapes our cities in more ways than one. At Wood Wharf in Canary Wharf, Alloy Fabweld played a key role in delivering the K1 & K2 Floating Water Pavilions — innovative structures designed to sit directly on the water and become vibrant destinations for Londoners and visitors alike.

Manufactured using our 100% green-energy, off-grid production facility, the steel structures were carefully designed, fabricated and installed within floating concrete bases across five construction phases. The project was developed with sustainability at its core, targeting a BREEAM Excellent rating and demonstrating how engineering and environmental responsibility can work together.

Today, these floating pavilions bring life to the waterfront while showcasing what’s possible when architecture works in harmony with water.

♻️ Global Recycling Day

At Alloy Fabweld, we believe recycling isn’t just about materials — it’s about transforming problems into possibilities.

That’s why we’re proud to support Steel Warriors, an inspiring charity that takes knives confiscated by police and melts the steel down to create outdoor calisthenics gyms for communities.

By turning weapons into places where young people can train, connect and build confidence, Steel Warriors is helping transform something destructive into something positive — promoting fitness, opportunity and safer communities.

It’s a powerful reminder of what recycling can achieve when combined with engineering, creativity and purpose.

🏙️ Project Spotlight: Victory Place, East Village

Part of the continued transformation of London’s former Olympic Athletes’ Village, Victory Place delivers 482 new homes above a mixed-use podium in Stratford’s thriving East Village.

Alloy Fabweld was proud to design, manufacture and install the glass balconies and Juliet balconies that form a key feature of the building’s façade. Working within an innovative prefabricated construction programme, our balcony systems were carefully coordinated with the building’s modular façade elements to ensure precise alignment, durability and architectural consistency.

The result is a façade that feels light, open and dynamic while providing high-quality outdoor space for residents and contributing to the evolving character of East Village.

🌉 Project Spotlight: Mackenzie Bridge, Canary Wharf

We’re proud to have played a key role in delivering the Mackenzie Bridge as part of the Park Place redevelopment on West India Avenue, helping improve connections and public spaces across the western end of Canary Wharf.

Manufactured at our carbon-neutral, off-grid facility, the modular bridge was engineered using advanced fabrication techniques before being carefully installed on site by our specialist team and partners.

Designed to perform in a demanding marine environment, the structure incorporates high-performance protective finishes and specialist deck technology to ensure durability, safety and structural integrity for the public.

A great example of how collaboration, engineering expertise and sustainable manufacturing can come together to create infrastructure that enhances the urban landscape.

🌉 Project Spotlight: NO6 Skybridge, East Village

Precision engineering meets bold architectural design. We’re proud to have delivered the NO6 Skybridge at East Village — a striking structure connecting the development and creating a unique visual statement within the London skyline.

From design and fabrication through to installation, our team worked closely with project partners to bring this complex piece of architectural metalwork to life. Projects like this showcase the breadth of Alloy Fabweld’s capabilities, combining engineering expertise with the ability to deliver bespoke structures at scale.

A great collaboration and an impressive final result.

This week is Women in Construction Week, and with International Women’s Day coming up on Sunday, it’s a good moment to recognise the women working across the construction and manufacturing industries.

At Alloy Fabweld, we know how important skilled people are to what we do whether that be in our factories, on site or our offices. It’s encouraging to see more women building careers across engineering, manufacturing, project management and the wider construction sector.

Progress in the industry depends on opening doors, creating opportunities and recognising the talent and contribution of everyone involved in delivering projects.

This week we celebrate the women helping shape the future of construction and manufacturing in the UK.

National Apprenticeship Week is a great moment to highlight how apprentices shape the future of Alloy Fabweld — across the workshop and the office.

We invest in apprentices because developing talent from within gives us people who understand our standards, our pace, and the level of precision and our projects demand. Whether it’s welding, fabrication, or business administration, apprentices become part of the team from day one.

But how have our apprentices benefited from our programmes?
Former welding and fabrication apprentices now lead our production teams and deliver complex structural builds.

Our business admin apprentices can grow into experts in estimation, compliance, business support, finance, and other specialist areas — it’s a route that opens doors across the whole organisation.

We pride ourselves on our continued work inspiring the next generation of metalworkers. We attend events at local colleges and welcome students to open days at our workshops, giving young people a real insight into what a career in our exciting industry can look like.
