🔵 Build your future with Carpentry at NKC Gravesend College! 🔵

Whether you’re starting out or looking to develop your skills further, we offer Level 1 and Level 2 Carpentry courses designed to give you practical, industry-focused experience.

You’ll learn from trade-experienced tutors in our modern, well-equipped workshops, developing skills in everything from woodworking joints and using hand and power tools to first and second fixing, structural carcassing and construction technology.

Alongside practical and theory lessons, you’ll develop essential skills such as working safely, communicating with others and calculating quantities. There are also opportunities to gain valuable industry experience through an industry placement as part of your study programme.

"It was an honour to represent the National Maritime Training Centre at this year’s Merchant Navy Day service at Tower Hill Memorial yesterday. Laying a wreath on behalf of the College was a poignant reminder of the sacrifice merchant seafarers have made during times of conflict. It was good to catch up with many friends and colleagues across the maritime industry, including Darrell Bate, Director of Maritime Training and Development at the Marine Society and Sea Cadets" - Stephen Watkins, Curriculum Manager at NMTC, NKC Gravesend College.

We're seeking a General Purpose Deckhand to join our Marine Services department.

The successful applicant will work on a range of vessels to support operations as well as working ashore at our main operational base at Denton, Gravesend.

Duties that are carried out by the department include overhauling moorings, oil spill response, salvage and diving, debris and obstruction removal, general deckhand tasks, craft maintenance and cleaning.
