Trainee / General Machinist

Grantham Fabrications is seeking a trainee machinist to join our workshop team.

This is a practical, hands-on role in drilling, turning, and milling, offering the opportunity to develop machining skills and take on increasing responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities:
▪️Carrying out drilling, turning, and milling tasks
▪️Producing components to specification
▪️Maintaining a safe and organized workspace
▪️Seeking guidance when required to ensure work meets standards

Requirements:
▪️Some practical or machining experience preferred but not essential
▪️Interest in developing skills within a fabrication environment
▪️Able to work independently and follow instructions
▪️Ability to read technical drawings is a bonus
▪️Reliable and practical

Training and guidance will be provided for a motivated candidate.

We’re Hiring – Semi-Skilled Fabricators / Welders

📍 Grantham | 🕓 Monday to Thursday – 38 hours

We’re looking to bring 2 Semi-Skilled Fabricators/Welders into our team at Grantham Fabrication & Profile Services.

We work on a wide range of fabrication and profiling projects, so no two days are quite the same. Ideally, you’ll have some experience in fabrication or welding — but we’re also open to people with transferable skills and the right attitude to learn.

If you take pride in your work, can use your initiative, and want a role where you can develop your skills and build something solid, this could be a great fit.

What the job involves:

▪️General fabrication and welding work
▪️Working from drawings and measurements
▪️Assisting on a mix of bespoke projects
▪️Keeping a tidy and safe workspace

A few weeks ago, we had the honour of being invited to Oulton Park for the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, thanks to the fantastic team at Rapid Honda and the inspirational team at True Heroes Racing.

As proud sponsors of Rapid Honda, it was a privilege not only to support the team but also to see some of the components and products we’ve manufactured being used and shown off on race day. It’s a special feeling to see our work in action, contributing to something we’re passionate about.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Owen Jenner
Although we only had the opportunity to work with Owen for a short time through our sponsorship of the Rapid Honda team, it was clear he was a talented young rider with a bright future and a great passion for the sport.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and everyone at the Rapid Honda team. Owen will be dearly missed by all who knew him in the racing community.
