We are thrilled to announce that Door Care and Security Ltd have been accredited as a Living Wage Employer. Our commitment to the Real Living Wage will see everyone working at Door Care and Security receive a minimum hourly wage of at least £10.90, higher than the government minimum for over 23s, which currently stands at £10.42 per hour.
Door Care and Security are based in the North West, where 12.5% of all jobs pay less than the real Living Wage - around 367,000 jobs.
The real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to the costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. Since 2011 the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 450,000 people and put over £2 billion extra into the pockets of low paid workers.
"The Covid 19 pandemic really opened our eyes to ensuring that all of our staff were financially supported during extremely challenging trading conditions. Since then we have eradicated the use of zero hour contracts across the business and I'm delighted to announce our accreditation with the Living Wage Foundation. We passionately believe that a hard day's work should be rewarded with a fair day's wage with every employee of Door Care and Security now receiving rates of pay over and above the Real Living Wage."
