Bill's Tool Store

25/09/2026

Douglas turns 5 today, so we have decided to shut for the Bank Holiday Monday and let him have a run about down the Green…

Open all weekend and again at 7am on Tuesday with the best selection of tools and workwear in Glasgow should you need us!

Why settle for one eclipse, come see us and I guarantee you’ll see plenty, and you won’t even need fancy glasses!

“Hullo, are you open on Monday?”

“Naw.”

As is tradition, we’ll be closed on Monday for the Glasgow Fair holiday.

Back in Bill’s day this was a much bigger holiday and we’d be shut for a few days. Bill didn’t have to compete with the internet though so we’ll be back open at 7am on Tuesday!

Normally I’d stick a post up to remind anyone coming to TRNSMT that we sell ponchos, waterproofs and dry socks if you’re in need but it’s a bit beyond that today. Better bring a snorkel, boat and a miracle!

We’ve just had an email from a Mrs Clarke of Mount Florida asking about fixings for a shelf. Her man is currently away working in Boston and mentioned something about bringing a souvenir home. Rest assured, we will have the fixings for any shelf no matter what he brings home, even if it is quite heavy…

Reeeaaallllyyy didn’t want to be ordering a load of waterproofs in June, but here we are….

It’s May, it’s Bank Holiday Weekend No.2. It’s a repost as Brian no longer trusts me taking his photo.

Shut Monday. Open Tuesday. Get your tools at this weekend at the Costa del Barras. Simple.

Two things to take from this picture:

1. That we’ll be closed for the bank holiday Monday but open again at 07:00 on Tuesday.

2. It’s almost endearing that Brian still trusts me when I ask him nicely to pose for a photo under a massive sign.

SATURDAY OPENING UPDATE:

With the football tomorrow and with traffic management in mind we’re going to be operating reduced hours tomorrow like other business in the area. We’ll be open as usual at 09:30 but have brought forward the closing time a little earlier and will now close at 14:00. Open as normal on Sunday.

A public service announcement brought to you by shop dog Douglas:

As you can see from these photos he’s been EXTREMELY busy at work this week and needs a rest, so we’ve decided to close the bank holiday Monday and grant him his wish.

Open again at 7am on Tuesday, belly rubs and gravy bones will be gratefully received.

In an uncertain world some things never change! I’m sure Bill would have been happy to know we still use the same padlock display rack and that Val is happily still working away at the ripe old age of (redacted)…

Give yourself a break from the news and come see us this weekend!

We’re shut on Monday for the bank holiday, roll your eggs and come see us from 7am on Tuesday!
