Drainage only works when every component does its job.

It’s easy to focus on the bigger parts of a drainage system, but smaller fittings are just as important.

They control flow direction, allow access for maintenance, and help prevent issues building up over time.

The 110mm 92.5 Degree Double Socket Soil Access Bend Black is designed to do exactly that.

It redirects flow while still allowing inspection points for blockages or maintenance when needed.

Simple in design, but essential in keeping systems working long term.

Not when everything runs smoothly.

“Very happy with customer service, I bought online and there was a problem with the order. A fella phoned the next day to check and all was resolved with no issues. Well done all.”

Situations like this happen in any business.

What matters is how quickly it’s picked up, communicated, and resolved.

In this case, a quick call the next day sorted everything without friction.

For customers working to deadlines, that kind of response makes a real difference.

Good service isn’t about avoiding problems entirely. It’s about not letting them slow people down.

It’s rarely the tools. It’s the preparation.

A lot of DIY projects don’t go wrong during the work itself.
They go wrong before anything even starts.

Choosing the wrong material, not understanding what’s needed for the space, or missing small details in planning can all lead to problems later.

And the data backs it up.
Around 3.3 million people admit their DIY projects have actually made things worse, while mistakes have cost homeowners an estimated £1.8 billion in repairs.

On top of that, 58% of homeowners end up spending more than expected on DIY projects, often because of errors or poor planning.

The result is usually the same. More time fixing things than actually completing the job.

Taking a bit of time upfront to get the right materials and advice makes a huge difference to how the project turns out.

It’s a simple step, but one that saves a lot of frustration, time, and money.

That doesn’t happen by accident.

“I first used this company in a previous job over 20 years ago…”

That kind of feedback says everything.

In this industry, people don’t stick around unless the experience is consistent.

Competitive pricing matters, but so does honesty, communication, and reliability over time.

When those things stay consistent, customers don’t just come back once. They come back years later, across completely different projects.

That’s the difference between a supplier and a long-term partner.

We recently asked one of our directors:

“What’s the most common mistake you see people make when choosing materials?”

He gave us some interesting ball knowledge because it wasn’t actually about the materials themselves.

“Not planning ahead, and needing delivery immediately. Also, recently, people use ChatGPT to estimate their materials, and it is often wildly out.”

It’s something we’re seeing more often across the industry.

When projects are rushed from the start, material choices become reactive instead of properly planned. That can lead to delays, incorrect quantities, wasted spend and unnecessary pressure on site teams.

AI tools can be useful for rough guidance, but material estimation still needs real industry knowledge behind it.

In construction, accurate planning early on nearly always saves time, money and problems later in the project..

Not all PVC sheets perform the same over time.

PVC sheets are widely used for hygiene cladding, and for good reason.

They’re easy to clean, quick to install, and work well in environments where durability and hygiene matter.

But there are differences in quality that aren’t always obvious at first.

Some lower-cost sheets use a foam core, which can make them more prone to dents and impact damage over time compared to solid sheets.

There’s also sometimes confusion around PVC as a material, but in practice it’s widely used across construction, healthcare, and food environments without issue.

Like most materials, performance comes down to choosing the right spec for the job.

If your materials haven’t changed, your efficiency probably hasn’t either.

Construction materials are evolving quickly, and the changes aren’t just cosmetic.

Modern products are being designed to reduce install time, improve durability, and make systems easier to maintain long after handover.

That shift is having a real impact on how projects are planned and delivered on site.

Lighter materials reduce handling time. Smarter systems reduce installation errors. And improved durability reduces call-backs and maintenance issues later in the lifecycle of a building.

The industry isn’t just moving towards “better products”, it’s moving towards more efficient workflows overall.

Staying aware of what’s coming through isn’t about following trends. It’s about staying competitive in how you deliver work.

Stay ahead with smarter material choices

Good finishes come from the right system, not just skill.

Silicone and sealant work is one of those finishing stages that can completely change how a job is perceived.

Even a well-installed project can look unfinished if joints are uneven, overfilled, or poorly tooled.

The Faithfull Silicone Applicator Scraper Kit 2 Piece is designed to take a lot of that inconsistency out of the process.

With multiple finishing profiles, removal blades, and a simple design that allows quick changes between tasks, it helps create a more controlled and repeatable finish across different applications.

It reduces waste, speeds up finishing time, and gives a more professional result whether you’re working on bathrooms, kitchens, or general construction detailing.

It’s a small kit, but it has a big impact on final presentation.

It’s not a trend. It’s a response to how sites actually operate.

Internal cladding has become more common across commercial and residential projects, and it’s not hard to understand why once you look at how it performs on site.

Traditional finishes like tiles and painted plaster can be time consuming to install and often require ongoing maintenance. Grout lines stain, painted surfaces need refreshing, and installation timelines can stretch depending on conditions.

Cladding systems remove a lot of those issues. They install faster, require less preparation in many cases, and create a clean, durable surface that is easier to maintain long term.

It’s particularly effective in environments like kitchens, washrooms, healthcare, and high-traffic commercial spaces where hygiene and durability matter just as much as appearance.

It doesn’t replace every finish, but where it is used, it often simplifies both install and maintenance significantly.
