Yesterday, Lesley-Ann and Scott from Wrights Dowson Group headed to Nottingham for the SHAPA Marketing Workshop.

It was a really productive day looking at how marketing is moving forward across engineering and manufacturing industries, especially with AI now becoming part of everyday life.

It was also great to connect with others from across the Industry and realise we’re all navigating many of the same challenges, opportunities, and changes.

A big thank you to Hallam for the engaging session, and to Louise Smallwood for organising such a worthwhile event.

MIG/TIG Welder/Fabricator Wanted

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated MIG/TIG Welder/Fabricator to become part of our busy team. This is a hands-on role involving mainly stainless steel fabrication, some mild steel work, and full project assembly from start to finish.

At Wrights Dowson Group, we design and manufacture high-quality screw conveyor systems for customers across the globe, giving you the opportunity to work on varied and rewarding projects in a supportive environment.

What we’re looking for:
-Experience in MIG & TIG welding and fabrication.
-Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
-Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
-A positive attitude and ability to work well within a team.

Last night a few members of the team had the pleasure of attending the SHAPA 2026 Solids Handling Industry Awards at the Swindon Steam Museum.

It was an excellent evening and a valuable opportunity to engage with professionals from across the industry in such a unique setting.

A remarkable 32 years (in one form or another!).

Seeing high-quality projects that our specialist teams have designed and built in-house heading out of the factory on the back of a lorry.

💬 What is your favourite memory from your time here?
Realising, after just a few weeks, that we were going to trade successfully through Covid thanks to the incredible support and commitment of everyone here.

👏 As our final spotlight, it feels only right to recognise Nick not just for his leadership, but for being an understanding and supportive figure who leads by example. His hard work, steady guidance, and genuine care for the team have helped shape the business into what it is today.
