We were really tested on this one...

Our customer had a very limited window to get these assemblies to site, only one week!

Luckily we have a very helpful supply chain, a highly competent and motivated workforce and so come the following week, we managed to achieve their target delivery date, including the delivery of several other machined and welded assemblies not shown in these pictures.

It certainly wasn't easy, but sometimes it's nice to look at a difficult lead time after delivery, and know that you've helped your customer to stay on track with their delivery schedule. 👏 😅

Lots of fabricated assemblies making their way through the workshop this past week!

-Display frames
-500x Countersunk and folded brackets
-Welded end plates with axles machined in-house
-Lifting adaptors with machined bosses made on our Puma 2000SY

All off to powder coating, zinc plating, or directly to our customers 😃

Precision engineering to get you out of trouble! 🚚

Sometimes things can go wrong in your production cycle, we know this.

Our customer called us with an urgent requirement for a custom adapter to be manufactured, to suit a fl**ge which had been cast into a concrete bed. Naturally, this meant a quick delivery was a priority!

After a day of measurement and manufacture, we delivered the adapter to site, keeping the customer and their products on time and functioning properly 😃

Reverse engineering and design at its finest! 😁

Our customer had a requirement for an older wire-feeding machine to be recreated, as some of their current units are reaching the end of their life.

After many hours of drawing, modelling and manufacture, all in house, the new unit came out looking superb, and is ready to go out into the field for many years of active service 👏

Another upgrade that has taken place in the last 6 months! 👏

After many years of faithful service, we replaced our Nakamura TMC-30 with a much newer, faster and more capable Doosan Puma 2000SY.

The Puma is equipped with a Hydrafeed 1m bar feeder unit, live tooling, Y-Axis and sub-spindle. This makes it much more productive than the Nakamura, but I was still sad to see the older machine leave us!

Another assembly now in service in the Automotive sector! 😄

We machined and assembled 150 of these ball joint assemblies for a good customer in the lifting equipment industry recently, producing our own version of the product from the customer's requirements and specifications. The picture is taken before the rubber boots were fitted!

Here at Barvek & Bland, we utilise 3D printing not only for workshop organisation and prototyping, but also for functional products! We recently produced 22 of these fl**ge protectors for a customer in the Automotive sector, from ABS plastic.

A job that tested the capabilities of our largest lathe!

These heavy-duty lifting drums were machined from a large piece of tube, fabricated with machined bosses and plates, and then finished off back on the Colchester K4.

Details included a helical groove cut for the lifting drum wire to feed from, radial clamps and a 20mm keyway. We sent it to site assembled with all accommodating parts manufactured in house also.

One of my favourite jobs to look back on, but it didn't feel easy at the time 😅
