Have you met Charles?
He’s hosting an upholstery workshop for us at Fromebase on Wed 9th & 16th Sept from 6-8pm.

A talented interior designer, teacher and all round talent based in Frome (some of you may remember his shop opposite the cinema 👀) he will be taking this 2 part workshop for 6 lucky people!

Learn how to replace webbing, foam, re-cover, line and tack 📌

Each person will work on their own chair ( which they can take home) and all materials will be provided.

So if you fancy learning a true life skill and practicing on a bit of furniture that isn’t your Nan’s heirloom 👵🏻

📣BEFORE /AFTER TRANSFORMATION!!! 💥

Just 4 months ago we only had this space underneath Edventure Frome | Coworking & Courses to bring Fromebase to life!

After Paul our neighbour moved to a more rural location, we had a chat with Charles from Charles | Interior Design to see what the possibilities might be if we opened out the space 🤓

The lovely Terry Pinto a fab local architect helped us bring it alive with a more complex CAD design to help convince our board we weren’t bonkers! 😜

NOW….we have this brilliant MASSIVE space that houses our Fromebase Store and all your lovely donations, SHARE - A Library of Things 🧡 at the back, a great workshop space, a new big counter and cafe area, room for plants, an additional spot for Community Fridge: Frome and last but not least (& coming soon) a new community dark room! 😎

It’s incredible what you can achieve with limited budget, a team that pulls together and a dream for something better!

Thanks 🙏 to all involved - this is just the beginning!!

We’ve been running DIY workshops at Fromebase over the last few weeks and safe to say it’s been a huge success so far!

Local legends, Rowan led our beginners Prep & Paint and then Tiling workshop and Rob held a basic power tool session.

Having a practical space to have a go and make a mess has been invaluable 🙌 and our new workshop area in the back of the Fromebase store has been a blessing!

Attendees are loving the short friendly courses and working in small groups 🤩

Which is awesome - as even though we’ve doubled our space the amount of donation we need to store is a bit bonkers and we’d rather use our lovely space to sell stuff to you lot! 😜
