Quartz, Statuario Crystal, 30mm with a chamfer edge.

For anyone going back and forth on Statuario MARBLE versus QUARTZ, this gives a fair sense of how quartz handles the same look.
The veining is a little softer than the natural stone, but the surface is considerably more practical for a working kitchen. No sealing needed and spills worth wiping up rather than leaving to sit- acidic ones especially.

The chamfer keeps the edge clean and unfussy. It doesn’t compete with the kitchen.

Popped in to see the lovely Sally yesterday at Bath Granite & Marble Ltd and was absolutely wowed by this stunning backlit Onyx! What a fantastic showroom in the heart of the New Forest (Lyndhurst).

Busy day in the factory, as always.
Cutting, polishing, sink cut-outs, machines running, water everywhere, people trying to get things finished… and somehow still made it into the day.
A very normal mix of stone, noise, wet boots and football updates.

Some kitchens are designed around colour.
Some are designed around cabinetry.
This one was designed around movement.

For this Lyndhurst project with , ‘Desert Gold’ Quartz was used across the worktops, island, splashbacks and feature surfaces, creating one continuous feel throughout the space.

What makes this project interesting isn’t just the material itself, it’s how the pattern travels. Across the island. Up the splashbacks. Around the sink.
Into the window areas.

That kind of result doesn’t happen by accident. Large format stone needs planning, especially when a bold vein is part of the design.

For this project, we used:

A small detail, but one that makes the whole kitchen feel more considered.
This stone shelf detail was made in Quartz, Calacatta Dorado, at 30mm thickness- bringing soft, warm veining into the space without overpowering the timber and lighting.

Stone isn’t only for main worktops. It can be used for shelving, splashbacks, window sills, furniture details and those quieter design moments that pull a room together.

8 places you may not have thought to use stone.
Most people think of stone as a kitchen worktop material first. And of course, it works beautifully there.

But stone can also be used in other parts of the home- from bespoke furniture and pantry surfaces to wall panels, boot room features, flooring, bathroom vanity tops, fireplaces and shelving details.

And that is not the full list.

Stone can also be considered for window sills, desks, reception counters, bar areas, outdoor kitchens, bath surrounds, wall cladding and other made to measure details.

It can open up new ideas when planning a space and it offers another way to bring texture, depth and material continuity into a project.

At ,we can supply, cut and shape the stone to suit the design, while the furniture or support structure is planned separately by the client, designer or maker.

The point is not to use stone everywhere.
It is to use it where it adds something.

Working on kitchen was such a lovely one for our team.
Seeing this Arabescato Quartz from Nile Trading UK Ltd come to life in the space completely changed the feel of it. The movement in the surface, the contrast, the way it all started pulling the kitchen together properly… so good!!

And honestly, this video sums up the kind of jobs we love being part of.. a beautiful home, a client excited to see it come together and a team that knows how to do a great job and still have a laugh while doing it. Jack definitely brought the energy here 👏🏼

These are the moments we really enjoy. Not just the finished look, but the people behind it and that point where a kitchen starts to feel real.

A lovely project to be part of for Grace & Austin and a team effort we’re really proud of.
