AJE is pleased to announce the continuation of its relationship with JN Bentley, having secured two additional work packages at the Bilston Glen site. AJE has been delivering the structural steelwork and cladding package for the Bilston Glen Treatment Building. As the project has progressed, it became evident that the site’s restricted footprint and complex programme requirements would benefit from a contractor capable of delivering multiple disciplines under one roof. Drawing upon its extensive experience within the water industry, AJE was able to offer exactly that solution.

AJ Engineering is delighted to announce the commencement of steelwork fabrication for the Longside Substation project in Peterhead, a key component of the wider Netherton Hub development being delivered by SSEN Transmission. Working on behalf of Balfour Beatty, AJE has been awarded the steelwork, cladding and overhead crane packages for the new 400kV and 132kV substation buildings.

Pre Construction Manager Lee Binks has completed two half marathons within two weeks of each other.
Lee trained hard to take part in the Kinloss Half marathon at the end of August and the Great North Run in September.
Last year, Lee completed the Great North Run, which is the largest half marathon in the world attracting nearly 60,000 runners! As a man from the North East, the AJ Bell Great North Run has become an annual event for him.
Lee said: “The Kinloss Half Marathon was hot. It was forecast to rain, but that never came and I wasn’t in the right attire! It was interesting and different being on the Kinloss barracks. The Great North Run this year was also a hot one, a very warm 23 degrees and a crowd of over 58,000 runners made for a difficult day but the atmosphere was fantastic and everyone battelled on, no personal records this year, but I am already booked for 2027 where I’ll be hoping to get a PB.”

TWO modern apprentices in fabricating/welding have begun at AJE. Aleksander Urbanski and Ryan Ramsay joined the company at the start of the summer.

International relations are very much on the books for AJE after securing works in Germany.
The work is for a site near to the Bavarian town of Gundremmingen and we are working on behalf of Irish firm HM&V Engineering who are a leading global provider of high-voltage engineering and construction services, with expertise in data centres, renewable energy and utility sectors.
