Not all hardware is meant to stay the same.

Unlacquered brass is left unsealed, which means it responds to time, touch and atmosphere rather than resisting it. The mirror-like shine you see on day one will slowly soften, warm and deepen, developing a patina that's entirely unique to how it's used and where it's fitted.

It's known as a "living" finish, and it's not a flaw. It's the point.
Other living finishes worth exploring include antique nickel, dark bronze and coppered bronze, each ageing in its own quietly beautiful way.

Some hardware is designed to disappear into a scheme. ELEEZ isn't one of them.

Developed in collaboration with Zaha Hadid Design, ELEEZ is Formani's most sculptural collection: a door handle designed to be a considered part of the spatial experience, not a functional afterthought. Every curve is shaped by movement, ergonomics and the feel of the handle in use.

Behind the design sits the same attention to durability, with PVD finishes engineered to resist wear and corrosion over years of use. Well-specified hardware shouldn't need replacing, it should hold its quality for the life of the project.

Hardware that looks right but doesn't work is an expensive problem.

Door weight, latch backset, spindle length, fire door compliance, accessibility requirements, the technical side of an ironmongery specification matters as much as the aesthetic. Getting it wrong on site costs time and money for everyone involved.
