Another specialist reservoir project successfully completed by MMP Marine.

Our team removed an existing penstock from a reservoir tower and installed a temporary seal as part of the tower’s secondary isolation system.

The works required careful planning and coordination, using a combination of modular pontoons, crane operations and commercial diving equipment to safely access and complete the installation.

✅ Penstock removal
✅ Temporary secondary isolation installed
✅ Modular pontoon working platform
✅ Crane and lifting operations
✅ Commercial diving support
✅ Completed on time and on budget

Another example of MMP Marine delivering specialist marine and underwater engineering works safely and efficiently.

Our bespoke fibre optics submersible ROV can traverse long distances up to 2000 metres under the right conditions from a single access point. Recently, it was deployed down a 50 metres shaft and 700 metres into a raw water tunnel to complete a successful CCTV and profiling sonar survey.

High-Risk Entry
MMP Marine’s High Risk & Rescue Team recently carried out a critical project involving a 40m+ shaft entry. Using a specialist basket system, our operatives were able to access the bottom safely and efficiently to complete essential works.
Every step of this operation was meticulously planned and executed, ensuring the highest levels of safety while delivering on schedule.
This project showcases the expertise, precision, and dedication our team brings to every high-risk environment.

🚧 Precision Engineering 🚧

We were recently tasked with designing a bespoke lifting solution to safely remove a 3-tonne valve and install two replacements, one internally and one externally all from a pontoon platform.
This required a bespoke 8-metre-high gantry with a 5-tonne safe working load and an 8-metre span to reach across the reservoir tower. A complex challenge, but by working closely with our client, we developed and executed a safe, efficient, and effective solution, both valved are now commissioned and in use.
Great teamwork, innovative thinking, and specialist expertise made this possible! ✅

Our team was selected by Donbass, The Project Managers, www.donbass.co.uk by recommendation, to carefully remove timber bridge legs from 1987 as part of a Painshill Gardens development project. www.painshill.co.uk/the-restoration-of-the-chinese-bridge/
Working underwater, our divers used precision cutting techniques to ensure the existing foundations remained intact for the replacement structure.
Preserving both the history and natural beauty of this stunning site a Listed Structure in a Listed Landscape, was a privilege, and we’re proud to have played a role in its restoration.
Site Engineer, Don Blackburn, was delighted with outcome and professionalism.
Great teamwork, expert craftsmanship, and respect for heritage made this project a success!
