Dan Williamson completed a 3-1 victory for Bishop’s Stortford Community Football Club under-16 Town, over Ware White as they maintained their unbeaten start to the season.

They took the lead midway through the Mid-Herts Rural Minors League, Division Two contest when Finley Campbell cut inside to find the bottom corner.

Man-of-the-match Paddy Dunne doubled the advantage by dancing through the defence and finishing neatly, but their opponents reduced the arrears before the break.

Town continued to enjoy lots of possession in the second period and made sure of the points when Williamson nipped in to open his account for the campaign with 10 minutes left.

The under-16 girls produced a much-improved performance when losing 2-0 to Evergreen in Hertfordshire Girls’ Football Partnership League, Division Two.

Composed defending by Aimee Cole and excellent goalkeeping by Freya Hooper ensured it was goalless at the interval.

We supported Jamie Evans with the repair of a starter motor for his fabulous home built Superstox car. Superstox cars are a purpose-built, 2 litre-powered, single seater vehicle which race in high speed races. These races are full contact so the cars are built with steel bumpers at the front and back to be used to push competitors out of the way!

Jamie Evans built this Replica, of a car which was built and raced in 1969 . Jamie was seen enjoying his hard work racing his creation in several events throughout the summer months in the “old school superstox races.

4 of the 5 largest truck manufacturers use VARTA AGM

We are pleased and excited to strengthen our relationship with the VARTA brand by facilitating the real-world testing of the A1 AGM batteries. These batteries have a 6 times longer cycle life compared to conventional batteries and are ideal for buses, Coaches, and long-haul vehicles and are used for hoteling and overnight functions including parking coolers/air conditioning.

Our valued customer Acme Bus Co Ltd, who are a major school bus operator and private hire provider in the Herts/Essex/Cambridgeshire area are currently trialling theses across several their Mercedes Tourismo coaches. These coaches are going to be subjected to the challenges of plenty of UK wide journeys and tours. This will provide these premium batteries the opportunity to demonstrate their worth, as the demands of passengers and ever-changing environments increase.

Acme Apprentice Technician Katie Batt, Provides an insight into their first-hand Experience of the VARTA product: -

“We have had an excellent experience with Guy Auto Electrics and were delighted when asked by them to be part of this trial for the new VARTA batteries. We at Acme Bus Co have had good experiences with VARTA batteries in comparison to other brands as we have found that the batteries last longer and are more efficient. For this trial we have put a set of the trial batteries on 2 of our coaches which are scheduled to conduct trips up and down the country throughout the coming months. We hope that this trial will allow us to see how the batteries perform over long distances as well as many shorter trips. To monitor this, we are going to conduct battery tests to see how much the battery has drained over these trips”

We have also invested in a top of the range diagnostic system which uses adaptive conductance to accurately examine the battery's cold cranking ability and reserve capacity. With an ongoing investment in the latest equipment and upgrades to ensure we are at the forefront of technology

-We can test all types of batteries, flooded EFB,AGM and AGM spiral

We are proud to be one of the limited numbers of sites in the UK that can provide diagnostics testing to the I-Star and the COM driven alternators.
