WOW. what a day.....!!!!
Manic as usual and large jobs coming in from all over the place!
We have been working with a major National Train Repair company who fully rebuild the engines and also TURBINES for natural energy companies!
The train engines use a hell of a lot of steel pipework and obviously safety is a premium.
The pipework is never changed on an engine rebuild and re-used time and time again because it is no longer made and now classed as an obsolete part!
We took patterns and looked into manufacturing these units but with an improvement to ease fitting and future repairs.
We submitted these to the repairer who passed them onto the rail company for review.
Just had the call today for TWO sets of pipework for fitting to the present refurb engines at their workshops for assesment!
If passed and customer is happy (and why the hell they wouldnt be...!) there is an additional order of 20 SETS of pipes, thats 8 pipes per engine, totalling 160 pipes...... PER MONTH!!!!!
Time to retire I think...NOT!!!!

Well ive decided RAPID HYDRAULIC SERVICES should have a Complaints Department!! We have never needed one or hopefully never will.
I just think it is only fair for OUR COMPETITION to have a designated line for when they wish to complain about our EXCELLENT PRICES and DEDICATED SERVICE to our customers and soon THEIR CUSTOMERS also!!!! Ha HA.

We also fitted a new King Pin through arm that he had supplied and filled the hydraulic oil up. All panels replaced, seized linkage freed off and tested ok!!!
Happy and relieved customer who has promised to clean his machine more often!!

Customer drops an OLD Bobcat mini digger at the depot on Friday with an oil leak under floor. Not nice to work on as restricted access under there and you need to take all the control levers and linkage out to see whats happening!
Well first it was FULL to the brim with soil....!!!!
Covered everything up to the floor panel, couldnt even see the valve block or hoses until blew some out with the airline (No access to dig it out even by hand!!)
Found the valve block had completely corroded through and releif valves had collapsed with corrosion and holed!!!!!
Never seen the likes in my career!
Lucky enough the main leaks were all on the top row so careful access with spanner to remove was needed.

Anyway, after cleaning that little lot up I had to clear inside to CLIMB IN (Oh how I love my job!!)
Cleaned out enough to lay clean cardboard in and remove the TWO leaking hoses on the main ram.
Quick tidy up (The area not me!) and oils topped up, panels replaced, oil (grass) spill cleaned and machine tested ok!!
Very happy customer, even had an audiance at one time of staff passing by. Should have charged them and gave a clump of oily grasss as souvenir!!
Panic over as they had a match that night and staff frantic with waste building up!
Just in time as the players coach came in thru the gates....

They say it was working fine, just making a hissing noise and stopped!!
Well the hissing noise is the hole in the hose, INSIDE the compactor, pouring out the oil and emptying the tank, hence not working any more!!!!
Time for an investigate inside. Access to the front panel was tight due to the bin still on the front and unable to move it!!
When finally got panel off this is what greeted me....!!
