At H2Watt, we’re not just building boats… we’re reviving history while pioneering a sustainable future. Our latest project brings a legendary Scottish vessel back to life in the name of carbon circularity and hydrogen innovation. 🚤 A Hull with a Story:
Kindly supplied by , our hull comes from Paul Sparrow’s “H2 Stealth” boat, a hydrogen-powered, super-manoeuvrable vessel that once hit 40 knots (46 mph). The Name & Legacy:
We’ve dubbed this boat the “Experiment of Leith H2”, paying homage to one of Scotland’s most groundbreaking vessels from the 18th century.♻️ Innovation Through Circularity:

🚀 Meet the Team Behind the Experiment of Leith H2!
At H2Watt, we’re working closely with , Heriot-Watt University’s Global Research Institute for Net Zero, to push the boundaries of hydrogen storage innovation and power the future of maritime sustainability. 🌍⚡️
To take on this challenge at the Monaco , we handpicked the smartest, most innovative, and (let’s be honest) best-looking students 😎, with the support of EPS (Engineering & Physical Sciences).
👨‍🔬👩‍🔬 Who’s on board?
Our multidisciplinary dream team includes experts from Chemical Engineering, Robotics, Energy, and Mechanical Engineering, all coming together to design, test, and optimize hydrogen-powered technology. Meet Logan Taylor, Kate Sinclair, Emilin isgin, Andrei Vlad and Dominic Chapman.
We’re gearing up to bring our hydrogen-powered boat to the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, proving that young engineers can lead the energy transition. 🚤⚡️
