We are a service company that has the development of people at its core – helping people and organisations realise and release their full potential.
The past eight years have been an era of low inflation, low pricing power and low growth, with disruption coming from all directions. Businesses hardly needed another reason to put off or cancel investments in the development of their talent pipeline.
MIST training is a buzz word in the North Sea at the moment and actually stands for Minimum Industry Safety Standard.
The consequences arising from cost cutting on training, can include loss of talent to competitors through to mistakes in operations, production or transactions leading to re-work, reduced profitability, relational and reputational damage.
Most people view accountability as something that belittles or happens to them when performance wanes, problems develop or results fail to materialise. After all, when things are sailing along smoothly, people seldomly ask, "Who is accountable for this success?"
Webster's defines "accountable" as "Subject to having to report, explain or justify; being answerable, responsible." Notice how the definition begins with the words "subject to," implying little choice in the matter. This confession-oriented and powerless definition suggests what many of us have observed—accountability is viewed as a consequence for poor performance; it's a principle you should fear because it can only end up hurting or disappointing you.
Consider the IEMS-UK approach on accountability: "A personal choice to rise above one's circumstances and demonstrate the ownership necessary for achieving desired results—to See It, Own It, Solve It, and Do It." This definition includes a mind-set or attitude of continually asking, "What else can I do to rise above my circumstances and achieve the results I desire?"
It requires a level of ownership that includes commitment and such a commitment embraces current and future endeavours. The same collective mindfulness is evidenced within high reliability organisations.
IEMS-UK has attracted seasoned subject-matter experts and specialist-consultant with years of field experience to work with our clients. Our people have diverse experience in multiple industries, are spread across the globe, multilingual and culturally astute, with a proven track record in their respective industries.
We would like to travel with you on your journey ahead – firstly to understand your needs, wants and desirable outcomes and then to co-create, execute the roadmap to leverage performance and financial returns.
