Meet Kiwi. He’s charming, hilarious, and never stops talking. Literally. 🦜

African Greys are famously chatty, but when working from home or trying to relax, non-stop squawks, whistles, and chatter can test even the most patient owner.

Instead of moving Kiwi out, the owners built an acoustic partition wall using Sisalwoo;...a natural, breathable insulation boasting outstanding sound absorption.

The result? Kiwi keeps chatting happily, and the rest of the house gets peace and quiet.

A few familiar faces for !

Here’s our founder John Ferguson and Sales Manager, Gavin Moore, at the recent RIAS Conservation Seminar at The Engine Shed in Stirling.

We were pleased to support the seminar for a second year, helping RIAS bring people together to share experience, explore conservation challenges and learn from real projects.

It’s the kind of conversation we’re glad to be part of — listening, sharing ideas and finding practical ways to support the people looking after Scotland’s buildings.

A big thank you to the RIAS team, all the speakers and everyone who took part.

If you’re planning a project or considering insulation options, send us a message. We can help with project-specific technical support, specifications, CPDs, samples and site visits.

A sauna made for Scotland’s west coast.... and, of course, a little time out. 🌿

Skye-based joiner James Wilson Joinery and Sustainable Building created his first Misty Isle Sauna with a simple aim: to build a calm, comfortable space using carefully chosen, lower-impact materials.

Scottish timber and Sisalwool natural-fibre insulation were part of that approach. Having used Sisalwool on a previous project, James knew it was easy to work with, while its acoustic properties would help keep unwanted outside noise at bay.

See the build and discover the thinking behind it....

A big thank you to Craig and Aimee from Kinging-It for choosing Sisalwool for their cottage renovation in northern Scotland. 🏡♥️

We’re proud to play a small part in bringing this lovely old building back to life. It means a lot that they’ve recognised both our sustainability credentials and the practical benefits of breathable insulation for a traditional home.

Their latest episode shares why they chose Sisalwool.... even describing it as “intelligent insulation”!

Wishing you both all the best with the next stage. We’re looking forward to seeing the cottage take shape.

You can read the story on the Sisalwool website or catch the renovation on Kinging-It’s YouTube channel.
