A vacancy has arisen for a Delivery Driver/Yard Man.

Redpath Tool Hire is a Leading Tool Hire in the Scottish Borders. Our Management has supplied non-operated plant and equipment hire services to customers in construction, civil engineering and road maintenance for 33 years which is a testament to our culture of “committed to service in everything we do.”

An exciting opportunity exists for the permanent position of Delivery Driver/Yard Man based at our Duns Depot on a full time contract. Basic hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday and optional Saturday 8am to 12pm.

Reporting to the Managing Director the main purpose of the role is to provide efficient and professional service for and behalf of Redpath Tool Hire.

Key Duties:
• Daily deliveries of our extensive product range to our customer sites.
• Dailt collections of our extensive product range.
• Dealing with customers on site and over the telephone.
• Yard duties when required.
• Help and support other staff.

Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate should be a good communicator (verbal and written) and be able to work effectively as a team member in a fast paced environment. Previous experience within a similar role would be advantageous but full training will be given.

Essential Skills and Qualities:
• Ability to communicate at all levels
• Work well within the team.
• Organisational skills.
• Customer focus

Good rates of pay, holidays and company pension available to the successful candidate.

One of our customers had a toilet stolen on the A7 between Selkirk & Hawick at the weekend.

It was delivered around 10am on Saturday 28th March and stolen between this time and lunchtime on Sunday 29th March 2026.

The toilet was situated in a lay-by off the A7.

Anyone see the toilet being loaded on to a vehicle or trailer

Good morning,

During the last 3 weeks we have absorbed the 30% increase in fuel costs due to the conflict in the Middle East.
We waited to see if there would be a quick resolution but unfortunately that hasn’t materialised.
As of 1st April 2026 there will be fuel surcharge added to all deliveries & collections until

Our white diesel tank has been refilled today and as a result our fuel prices will be going up as of 8am tomorrow.

This price increase is out with our control. Luckily we had enough in the tank to sustain our current price for the last two weeks.

As the main stockist for Altrad Belle in the Scottish Borders we are are able to offer competitive prices.

This brand new 1/2 battery powered mixer was collected by one of our regular customers this afternoon.

Quoted in the morning, collected in the afternoon.

This mixer was suppled with two 5ah batteries and charger and going straight to work first thing tomorrow.

We also have battery vibrating plates & disc cutters in stock for hire or sale.
