We’re delighted to support our local community scarecrow event with our very own Sammy the ARB Biogas Scarecrow, complete with his miniature digester!

He’s dressed for the job, happy to work outdoors and hasn’t complained about the weather once. We might have to keep him! 😂

🔧 What’s Happening at ARB?

The three R’s of ARB Process Engineering:

🔹 Retrofit
🔹 Refurbish
🔹 Repower

Following the client emptying and preparing the tank, the ARB team got to work transforming the existing infrastructure into a fully upgraded and easier to operate asset.

This is not simply about replacing individual components. It is about reviewing the complete system, identifying where performance can be improved and engineering a solution that delivers long term value.

The refurbishment package includes:

✅ A new gas membrane system
✅ A completely new internal mixing system
✅ New mixer supports, shafts and paddles
✅ A bespoke stainless steel centre assembly
✅ New internal heating coils
✅ Precise positioning and alignment of all equipment
✅ Improved mixing performance and reliability

The next phase will see the installation of a complete ARB BioControl SCADA system.

This will bring the plant controls together into one intelligent platform, providing clearer plant visibility, improved monitoring and simpler day to day operation for the customer.

That is what repowering means to ARB. Making the most of existing infrastructure while improving how the entire plant performs and operates.

On to the next de grit. Another tank. Another challenge. 💪

Our men aren’t afraid to take a challenge by the horns, and these pictures show exactly what that looks like.

When mixing becomes difficult, it gives us a small indication of what might be building up below. But until the tank is opened and the clean out progresses, the full extent of sediment build up and the condition of its internal equipment aren’t always clear.

Every job brings its own challenges, requiring experience, careful planning and a team that can adapt as the work progresses.

It’s tough, dirty work. Covered in muck, our team works tirelessly to remove the accumulated material and reveal what lies beneath.

Behind every bucket lifted is a team putting in the hard graft. A huge thank you to our men for their effort, determination and pride in the job. 👏👏👏👏
