Putting Social Value into Action 💙

It’s been a busy week for Team NUGENT, supporting initiatives that reflect our commitment to social value and CSR.

From sponsoring a rail at the shop takeover in Derry by , to taking part in the Alzheimer's Society Northern Ireland Trek26 challenge along the Causeway Coast, our team has been proud to support some fantastic causes.

We also celebrated the Alzheimer’s Society’s 40th anniversary, attended the Blue Awards at Queen's University Belfast as sponsors of the men’s GAA football programme, and rounded off the week by volunteering and fundraising across Belfast city centre.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, volunteered, and supported these initiatives. Giving back to our communities remains at the heart of what we do.

⛸ Project Update – Dundonald International Ice Bowl ⛸

We’re delighted to be appointed as MEP contractor for the new Dundonald International Ice Bowl, working alongside Heron Bros Building Merchants on this landmark £52 million redevelopment.

Using our off-site manufacturing (OSM) facility at our Pomeroy HQ, our team has designed, manufactured, and pre-assembled advanced plant rooms, delivered to site fully tested and ready for installation. This OSM approach improves quality, enhances safety, reduces programme risk, and ensures efficient delivery from factory floor to final installation.✅

Supported by investment from Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council and the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund, the new state-of-the-art leisure and entertainment centre is expected to open in 2027.

We’re proud to play a part in a project that will support economic growth, create jobs, and strengthen regional tourism for years to come.🙌

We were delighted to welcome the fantastic pupils of Queen Elizabeth II Primary School, Pomeroy, to our head office at NUGENT for an engaging and insightful site visit 🙌

The day began with an introduction to who we are at NUGENT and the work we carry out across the MEP sector, giving the pupils a real-world glimpse into the industry. This was followed by a guided tour of our head office, where they had the opportunity to see first-hand how our teams operate. A particular highlight of the visit was the hands-on plumbing exercise, which sparked great enthusiasm and curiosity among the group 👷‍♂️

The pupils were an absolute credit to their school—attentive, well-mannered, and eager to learn throughout the day. Their positive attitude and engagement made the experience thoroughly enjoyable for everyone involved. They truly represent the very best of Queen Elizabeth II Primary School, and we would be delighted to welcome them back again in the future—perhaps even as the next generation of MEP professionals.🌟

A sincere thank you to Mrs Robinson and her team for their support in organising the visit and assisting both in the preparation and on the day itself. We greatly appreciate the collaboration and look forward to reconnecting with the pupils at their project presentation day next month.✅

To mark World Day for Health and Safety at Work, we placed a strong focus on both the physical and mental wellbeing of our team. ✅

As part of this year’s initiative, we were delighted to offer staff the opportunity to take part in health checks delivered by the charity♥️

A sincere thank you to the representatives from NICHS for visiting our Belfast and Pomeroy offices and providing Well Checks for our team — your support was greatly appreciated.

We also welcomed Peter McCammon from PM Coaching, who delivered an insightful and motivating session to our teams across all sites. Peter shared practical advice on managing stress, avoiding burnout, and rebuilding motivation during challenging periods — an engaging session that resonated strongly with everyone who attended.

Investing in our people’s wellbeing remains a priority, and we’re proud to support initiatives that help our team stay healthy, resilient, and supported. ✅ 👏

It was an early start yesterday for our new cohort enlisted to carry out the recently awarded contracts with the Education Authority (NI).

On Wednesday morning, we hosted an information session at the Pomeroy Forest Building, Co. Tyrone. This was a valuable opportunity to meet with the team involved in the contract and communicate key messages to ensure we continue to deliver excellence in the education sector.

Thank you to everyone who attended — we are looking forward to working together in the successful delivery of these new contracts.
