Last week marked the completion and topping out ceremony of Saddell Castle. First built in 1508 and later restored in the 1970’s, Saddell Castle has undergone an extensive renovation and Improvement works over the past 14 months to conserve and maintain this Category A listed building. A flagship property of The Landmark Trust, Saddell Castle has been transformed back to its former glory with some subtle modern changes. Acting as principal contractor, William Waugh & Sons have overseen the works which consisted of extensive external fabric masonry repairs, lime harling with lime wash, basement upgrading works, replacement of slate roofing and leadwork. Internally the internal layout has been reconfigured to form two additional bedrooms, full plumbing and electrical installation, internal decoration and internal joinery works including a custom made bespoke kitchen island fit for any castle.

All the work wouldn't have been possible without the commitment, dedication and trust shown by The Landmark Trust and those who has been involved from the start. The quality, standard of workmanship and attention to detail provide by all contractors involved was fitting of such a prestigious project.
