Water manifold fabricated for a crushing and screening plant on a windfarm for dust suppression.

3" steel weld on barb fitting wasn't available locally so one was machined up.

Cracked roller arm from an SP harvester head in for repair a couple of weeks ago.

As usual the crack was fully cut out then bolted into the jig to make sure it was all back in line before welding it up fully, double checking the hole alignment, drilling and then re-tapping before getting masked up and painted.

Thanks again for Wilson's putting the customer InTouch with myself and for Ponsse for running it up the road from down south.

Repaired on the Friday and the Customer came and collected themselves on the Saturday morning and were back up and running on the Monday morning.

An extension from a few months ago that had cracked wide open and twisted the remaining side out of place.

I tried to heat and pull back into place on-site but with the internal hoses I couldn't put too much heat into it.

It was removed and dropped off at the workshop where it was gouged out fully and re-welded and taken back to site to help with refitting.

A job to recover a damaged new slew motor after the old one had stripped the threads and bent and broke the housing.

Someone had attempted to drill and tap the chassis to M20 and it looks like the new motor had been drilled and tapped and then attacked with a die grinder.

The newly installed slew motor was apparently wobbling about so was removed again.

I collected and took it back to the workshop to come up with a plan for recovering and sorting it.

5 ally top hats were machined and pulled back into the drilled out holes as they weren't 100% round ally was the choice, taking these back to 16.5mm ID

The solution to the M20 threads in the chassis was to machine up some M20 to M16 threaded adapters, I machined and internally threaded these then added a shear groove so when thread locked and tightened into the chassis they would snap off and remain tight.

All built back together again using the factory CAT M16 bolts and washers.

CHP biomass job from a few weeks ago.

Called out to a broken auger and a seized gearbox/motor which was stopping the auger from being removed.

A fair bit of well placed heat to avoid damaging the gearbox and seals and some wedges and pry bar the gearbox was removed and the damaged auger was removed and delivered to the workshop.

The auger was cleaned up and a solid bit of EN8 bar was slid up inside to keep the auger aligned, knocked back together lined up and fully welded back together including a few other cracks that were found.

Loaded and delivered back to site and helped to refit and replace all the guards.

Called out on Tuesday afternoon to a komatsu 845 that looked like it had broken the bolts behind the diff.
Once on site I could see that it had pulled the threads out the front top half of the chassis and had broken the bottom four.

There were signs of old cracks on the bolt that were removed so had been happening for a while unnoticed.

The front half was removed and the brakes on the rear bogie were wound off and the tracks removed and taken out of the wood along with the front section.

Once back at the workshop it was unloaded and put into the workshop.

Couldn't oversize the threads as the studs go through the rear diff casting.

Chassis was cut and flared out to allow enough room for high tensile nuts both sides of the studs/tie bars.

Bolted back together and now awaiting a few parts from Sweden before going back out to site.

Called to another Valmet 890 with a broken chassis.

Had profile drawings saved from the 890 repair from last year, some slight changes to the drawings for this one were made and then cut out.

Once on site the top of the damaged chassis was fully cut out to match the new 10mm replacement plate, this was then prepped and fully welded and dressed up.

The 15mm top strengthening plate was then prepped and also fully welded into place overlapping the new 10mm plate underneath.

Cracks in the side of the chassis were fully cut out and welded up.

A couple of 15mm strengthening plates were cut on site, cleaned up and fully welded on both sides!
