CNC Flat Bed Laser cutting is a process where we are able to rapidly produce highly accurate large and small flat parts from sheets of material, using a laser beam focused through a non-contact cutting head. These parts can range in size from a few millimeters upto 4m x 2m, in thicknesses of 0.5mm upto 20mm, and whilst we mainly cut mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and titanium. Other materi
als can be cut using our laser technology. The process begins with a cad drawing, which can be produced in house, supplied from the customer in dwg or dxf form, scanned from an image or flat blank/template. This file is then imported into our CNC software where laser technology is applied to create cut paths, at this stage we also check for accuracy of the image compared with the customers original details. Next we nest the part into the appropriate material, sometimes along with other items to arrive at an efficient material usage. The finished nest is then sent to the appropriate machine for processing
With our 5 bystronic CNC laser cutting machines, we are able to produce laser cut profiles from just a few millimeters, upto sizes of 4m x 2m x 30mm thick. These use a variety of gasses and pressures which allows us to apply different cut finishes and work to tolerances of +/- 0.25mm and better. We are also able to fold profiles upto 4m long using our Bystronic CNC press brakes.
