Sometimes the difference between a supplier and a partner is what happens when things don't go to plan.

Recently, one of our customers found themselves in a difficult position after being let down by another supplier. They urgently needed laser-cut parts to keep their project moving and avoid disruption to their own operations.

After receiving the enquiry, our Laser Services team quickly reviewed the requirement, adjusted plans where possible and worked together to ensure the parts were processed and delivered back to the customer within 24 hours.

What makes us particularly proud is that this was achieved without impacting our existing commitments. Members of the team stayed later than planned, demonstrating the flexibility, commitment and customer-focused attitude that exists throughout Servosteel.

What does staff retention look like in your business?

At Servosteel, we are proud of the experience, knowledge and loyalty within our team. When we recently reviewed our staff retention figures, the combined years of service were impressive:

Across the whole of Servosteel, our employees have achieved an incredible 1,014 years of combined service, with an overall average of 12 years per employee.

According to recent benchmarking, the median tenure for SME’s such as ours is 250-350 years of combined service and an average of 5.3 years per employee.

For us, these figures represent more than just numbers. They reflect who we are as a business ,the loyalty of our people, the experience retained within the business and the strong team culture that has developed over many years.

Servosteel was delighted to host an event where NASS members had the pleasure of meeting with the Bank of England and Governor Andrew Bailey for a round table discussion.

The session was a fantastic opportunity to exchange insights with colleagues from both the steel industry and the Bank, helping to strengthen connections across the sector.
