Pro Blocks

Pro Blocks Use for both wet and dry sanding. Saving time and money on every job

The ultimate sanding blocks - With a EPDM foam handle and various thicknesses of polycarbonate bases, these are both lightweight and guaranteed to give you the flattest finish possible. We decided to make the ultimate sanding block after years of having to make our own blocks from various materials to give us the show-winning arrow-straight finishes we are known for. With a Polycarbonate base of v

arious thicknesses and an ergonomic EPDM foam handle which has been chosen for its lightweight, closed-cell structure which won't soak up water, making them ideal for both wet and dry sanding. This makes them both lightweight and are guaranteed to give you the flattest finish possible. With 3 different thicknesses of base, the blocks are of various lengths and widths from rigid to flexible, giving you a block for virtually every shape panel. These will guarantee to show up the highs and lows on your panel, giving you the ability to get your panels as flat as possible, as quickly as possible, saving you time and money. All our sanding blocks are available to buy individually or as part of different sets tailored to suit specific needs. Also available are our show finish lacquer blocks, designed for sanding down the lacquer for that show winning flat shine. These are again made in different sizes and thicknesses to suit the shape of various panels, this is the only way to get that mirror flat shine. Available in sticky-backed sandpaper or velcro

Recommendation: Sticky sand paper offers the ultimate flat finish as the velco does add a cushion which can 'absorb' some slight imperfections.

Using Guide coat to clearly show the lows and where the panel needs working. Using guide coat for all filler and primer stages is super important and shouldn’t be over looked.

Also using the correct block for the shape of the panel your working on is equally if not more important, not too flexible, but not too rigid either to get your panel into shape as quickly and efficiently as possible saving you time and money, whilst getting those reflections perfect.

Selecting the right sanding block for the shape you're working on is just as important as your technique. Here's what to consider when making your choice.
Surface hardness. The block's surface must be completely firm with no give. This is what allows it to cut the surface flat — and it's exactly why polycarbonate is such an effective material.
Rigidity isn't a virtue in bodywork. A good sanding block should flex enough to follow the contours of the panel, helping you maintain correct shapes as you sand. It should yield with light pressure — not too stiff, not too floppy. If anything, most people tend to reach for blocks that are too rigid. Stiffer does not mean better results.
Length. I always say choose the largest block you can use for the panel you are working on. The longest block isn't always the best choice though as you will need enough room to complete full strokes. — finding the right balance takes some experience.
Variety. With polycarbonate blocks, thickness determines flex, and different shapes call for different blocks. Don't try to get by with just one or two. It's completely normal to have 5–10 blocks for a car and to switch between them frequently as you move across different areas. If something doesn't feel right, swap it out until the sanding feels the way it should.
The real secret to these blocks is the material itself — polycarbonate. The handles are designed to be as comfortable as possible so the polycarbonate can do its job unhindered, letting you sand for hours without blisters or hand fatigue.
