🇮🇪 MIKE BROWNE — A TT 2026 TO TREASURE FOR CORK'S FINEST 🇮🇪

What a fortnight from Mike Browne.

The Killeagh man has signed off the 2026 Isle of Man TT with a podium, five silver replicas, five top-10 finishes, and a 130mph+ Superbike lap. He leaves the Island still the proud sole Republic of Ireland holder of TT's most historic distinction — and the fastest ROI rider of all time around the Mountain Course. 🏁

📊 MIKE'S TT 2026

🔹 RST Superbike TT — 9th, on the Caffrey International/Russell Racing Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade. A first-lap pace of 130.330mph kept Mike firmly inside the elite TT 130mph club — and as it stands, he continues to remain the only Republic of Ireland rider ever to have joined that hallowed group around the Mountain Course.

🔹 Monster Energy Supersport TT Race 1 — A tough day on the Boyce Precision Engineering by Russell Racing Yamaha, with Mike running inside the top three before a pit-lane penalty dropped him out of the running.

🔹 Monster Energy Supersport TT Race 2 — 4th. Mike set his quickest ever Supersport lap in excess of 127mph, edging good friend Paul Jordan by 0.9 seconds for fourth — all despite an intermittent transponder that left him riding parts of the race without pit boards. 💪

🔹 Carole Nash Sportbike TT Race 1 — 🥈 A career podium aboard the Melbray/Laycock Racing Paton. Both Mike (123.273mph) and 3rd-placed Paul Jordan (123.185mph) broke the 123mph barrier for the first time in the class — with the verdict going to Mike by just 0.663s after a brilliant final-lap scrap.

🔹 Milwaukee Senior TT — 9th, in the lap-one-declared result, back on the Russell Racing Honda Fireblade.

🏍️ THE GENE McDONNELL TRIBUTE
Mike's Sportbike podium had even more meaning behind it. The Melbray/Laycock Racing Paton was campaigned in the historic Joe Millar Racing livery — a tribute to mark 40 years since the tragic loss of Portglenone's Gene McDonnell at the 1986 TT.
McDonnell was riding in Joe Millar Racing colours when he was killed at Ballaugh. Team boss Eddie Laycock — a close friend of Gene — and Melbray Racing owner Simon Warren worked through the winter to bring the tribute together. For Mike to take that bike to the podium will mean a huge amount to everyone who knew and remembered Gene. ❤️

📈 ROI'S FASTEST EVER
Mike's TT 2026 cements his status as the fastest Republic of Ireland rider of all time around the 37.73-mile Mountain Course. A back-to-back Lightweight Manx Grand Prix winner (2022 & 2023), the first ever Mountain Course winner on the iconic Ducati 916 (Classic Superbike MGP 2024), and a multiple TT podium finisher — Killeagh's finest is writing his own chapter in Irish road racing history.
