We appreciate this is a bit of a longer video but we wanted to highlight the effort that goes into spray painting a locomotive body. All the bodies are first sand blasted, primed, scotched down and are finally glossed and baked. There are many issues that can occur such as, paint reactions and tiny pin holes in the brass can show up often requiring them to be filled and then repainted. Sometimes the bodies have to be stripped of paint altogether and the process starts again to ensure that show room finish we aspire to achieve. And this is just for the locomotive bodies, not to mention all the other parts on our engines that go through the same process. In this video you can see Bren expertly painting a Taliesin body ready for the next batch.

Here is a stunning example of what you can achieve, starting with one of our basic Peggie locomotives and putting a lot of time and effort into it can really transform them into something special. Some of our staff have been playing in their own time with one vision in mind, to produce a locomotive that represents Uskmouth 1, whilst we appreciate Uskmouth 1 is a standard gauge locomotive they felt Peggie lends itself to the Peckett style.
Just to clarify this is not for sale, we will provide the Peggie and the rest is up to you.

Factory open day 2026!!!!

Take a behind the scenes look at just how we produce our products on Sunday 31st May. We will open the doors at 10 am and unfortunately have to eject you at 2 pm for you to have an access all areas experience of our factory. Staff will be on hand to answer questions you may have and also demonstrate locomotives. There will be tea and coffee to hand along with a healthy spread of food.

We are also collaborating with one of our customers to open his garden railway up from 1 pm (weather dependent). Details will be available on the day.
